Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Jazzmine @dashofjazzblog

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am a 20-something young professional from Houston, Texas. I love taking care of people and the most fun ways for me to do so are through cooking, playing hostess, and sharing advice/recommendations. I live and work in Houston and have lived in a few different cities in Texas and travelled all over the US and abroad.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My Instagram is food-focused: recipes, dining, and entertaining; with peeks into other related areas such as home and health.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It stems from my blog name, Dash of Jazz, which was taken but not being used on Instagram at the time. DashofJazzBlog is the uniform handle across all of my social media accounts.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

VSCO, Lightroom, and the built-in tools on Instagram. I don’t generally use filters but I will play with brightness and saturation on most pictures before posting them.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

KateyMcFarlan, BunnyBaubles, NorthofthePark

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

My pumpkin donuts recipe! It is perfect for Fall and went live on 10/13/16.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Getting to connect with brands I love and share useful information with an audience that is similar to me–just trying to figure out #adulting!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Make sure that the brand is a good fit with not only existing content but the influencer’s actual life. This leads to organic content that is relatable and not cheesy. I can always tell when a sponsored post is forced or not well thought out.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

It’s the most important thing there is as an influencer. Without it, you don’t have an audience.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Learning about things ahead of time and thinking creatively in order to develop unique content.
