This is my first try cooking braised black bean yee mian noodles that is a very common dish amongst all the zi char stalls in Singapore. Its a dish that truly spells the Singapore hawker culture. This dish is usually only found in the late afternoon or during the evenings when these stalls will only be open then. Now that I have mastered this dish, my family can get to enjoy it anytime when they crave for it. I remembered when I was young, my parents used to bring me to a zi char stall almost weekly and this has always been my dish of choice because it is so comforting and rich. I hope to be able to bring this same joy to my little one.
