Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Scott Purcell @manofmanytastes

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Scott Purcell and I’m the co-founder of Man of Many – manofmany.com and the instagram @manofmanytastes. I’ve recently left my job in finance to focus on the site full-time so there’s many exciting times ahead.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

We post about all the cool things a guy could possibly want from the latest tech products, cars, fashion and drinks. We also find plenty of inspirational images from around the web.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It really came from the name of our blog. My housemate came up with the name and we were amazed when the url wasn’t taken!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

VSCO we use a lot to apply a common filter to all our images. We also use an instagram scheduling service to ensure we post regularly.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

We really like @gearpatrol @misterspoils and @insidehook. They’re all great men’s lifestyle sites.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Try posting regularly and with a consistent filter to give your feed a sense of commonality.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

The people you get to meet definitely. We’ve been lucky enough to attend some great events where we’ve met some lifelong friends.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I would always disclose if something is sponsored (i.e. a cash payment made) to your followers with a simple #sp in the description. This means you’re always transparent and acting ethically.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality and original content gets shared far more often then a piece of content you find from elsewhere. Chances are that people will tag you are the original author and it will help you grow.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

It allows us to share the products we genuinely love as well as create valuable content for the brand.
