Sharing a few short snippets of Sapa Vietnam, and if you want to hear the most beautiful windchime I've ever come across, stay till the end and linger for as long as you'd like. I sculpted this water buffalo after seeing a number of them scattered throughout the rice paddies. They were just roaming around and enjoying life. I'm guessing once it's sowing time they'll be busy prepping the land. I started the sculpting in our hotel and brought it back in a spectacle case to complete in Singapore. Those horns were fragile. Keeping a log so I remember which moonstone belongs to which little guardian. Each stone is uniquely shaped and so each cavity accommodates that particular stone. I'm currently nearing the end of the making cycle for the next shop update. However, the bottom 3 will not be a part of it as I have different plans for them 😌 It's been a trying week filled with hospital and vet visits. Things have slightly stabilised but we've got more follow ups to come. New treasure keepers taking shape 🍃 I actually started on something similar a few weeks back but by a stroke of misfortune they got swept off the table and onto the floor. Most shattered and a few remained just barely salvageable. I'm not going to lie, I was pretty heartbroken. But we move forward. The broken pieces will be slaked down and made into new work and some of the pieces may be incorporated into new designs that otherwise wouldn't have been thought of. He worked with them at the night safari during his internship days and said he once had to put his arm up a rhino's butt.
