Moving sale + celebration ✨ Tomorrow is a bittersweet day. My favorite space in Charlotte and the space I’ve called home for my studio for the past five years, @covetatelier, is closing and will be transitioning to being solely online. The closing celebration will be happening tomorrow from 12-6, so come and snag the last bit of product and celebrate the closing of one of the most beautiful store that’s ever had life here in Charlotte. There will be food + drink and lots of feelings and all product will be 30% off. We are moving studios as well, so we will have a batch of our goods installed along with our fabrics by the yard that will also be a part of the sale. Covet (and Kim esp.), I love you and I can’t wait to celebrate this iteration of your business!

What an amazing time we’ve had these last few weeks in our winter coat workshop. These ladies worked hard, learned new techniques, learned tips and tricks for sewing with wool and built their confidence with new sewing projects. Coats can be a long, tedious process, and they took on the challenge beautifully! So proud of these ladies! And just look how radiant they look in their new coats! What a blast this sewing course has been! We spent three weeks learning about our machines, the tools and verbiage used, how to read a commercial pattern, how to sew seams, bias strips and hems, and the general construction of a garment. I always come away from teaching this course feeling so fulfilled. I love that moment when things just click for a student and it starts getting easier and feels a bit more natural. These girls did an amazing job on their tops, and, as always, I love seeing the joy when they put on their pieces they just created. ✨

A stack of black and white on the agenda today 🤍🖤

Well, hello again! Towards the latter part of this past year, I became very quiet on this platform. I was questioning things (my business model, what I ultimately hope to get out of life and where I saw this business going, etc.) and when I feel a bit lost with no answers I collapse internally. I had no capacity for external expression and kept mostly to myself. Now, with a new year beginning, I’ve been reflecting and looking forward. I still don’t know exactly what’s to come for this year and Two Fold, but I’m excited at the things I’m working towards! If interested, stay plugged in with our Instagram and newsletter for updates and releases. Some exciting things are in the works and I can’t wait to share more!

I had a conversation with someone much older than myself today who pointed out a few things that could be better about my body. In this conversation I learned a lot about why we talk down to other women and tell them their appearance isn’t “up to par”. We project to others what has been said to us (through the media and people in our personal lives). If we feel like we aren’t skinny enough, don’t have big enough boobs, have too large an ass, etc. we see those “flaws” in others. Do I have things I wish I could change, absolutely. But am I proud of my figure and love the body I’ve been given? ABSOLUTELY! I choose to love my body (I only get one) and celebrate every body out there. I could so easily look at myself and nitpick what I wish was different, but I am who I am and I’ve worked hard to learn to love this version of myself. I will not let anyone diminish my worth because there are things that aren’t up to their standards. No matter your size, shape, height, color I celebrate you and want you to know you are beautiful JUST AS YOU ARE! Now, go light up the world and let that beauty shine 🌟
