The Bufano Peace Statue Monument, originally named “The Expanding Universe,” was created in 1962 by the famed San Francisco artist and Italian sculptor, Beniamino Bufano. Soaring 93-feet above the cliffs, the obelisk, which was built over a period of seven years, is an iconic symbol of beauty, spirit, and tranquility.
