CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE BRIDGE TO DHABALESWAR TEMPLE WILL BE FINISHED SOON. The concrete bridge to Dhabaleswar temple at Athagarh in Cuttack district is nearing completion and will be opened to the public soon. Sanjay Kumar Singh, principal secretary of the Rural Development department assessed the progress of the work during a visit. The bridge will be opened to the public after the final touches. The bridge measuring 276 metres in length and 6.2 metres in width has been constructed with a cost of Rs. 22.28 crore. It stretches from Mancheswar village to Dhabaleswar temple. IMD PREDICTS HEAVY RAINFALL FROM JULY 5 The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in several districts of Odisha for at least three days starting July 5 (Wednesday). As per the IMD prediction, there is a high possibility of heavy rain to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangapur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal and Kalahandi on July 5. The IMD has issued yellow warning in this regard. As per the weather forecast, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of South and North Odisha on July 6. AS MONSOON WEAKENS, HEAT AND HUMIDITY HITS THE STATE AGAIN The decrease in monsoon activity has resulted in an increase in humid conditions across the state, which the IMD office said is likely to continue till July 5 when a possible low-pressure area may cause some rain. “Southwest monsoon has been subdued over Odisha. Increase in humidity is a common characteristic of monsoon. As the monsoon weakens, humidity levels increased in most places across the state,” said H R Biswas, director of the Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar. It said a low-pressure area over the northwest, adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal and coastal areas is likely to form around Tuesday (July 4).
