Mehndi Barbie 💕 . . . Saba said “you can never go too heavy on blush, slather me in it.” So we went with a monochromatic pink throughout the cheeks and eyes. Blush was the color palette 😜 This dupatta draping style was really tough for Saba to wrap her head around bc she said it wasn’t as she had ever envisioned for herself. I had to advise her on 2 specific drape styles bc the dupatta was almost double a standard length! With some back and forth and reassurance, she was so pleased with my guidance bc she was able to dance care free at the mehndi hands free. I’m obsessed with these results. The updo was her idea and I think it was such a brave move with big payoff. Anjiya 🌙🌸 . . . There is nothing like a classic red lip moment on a Desi bride. I wanted to alter the look with some finesse by not doing the typical gold glitter, winged liner blah blah. I feel like while having respect for it’s place in bridal history, it’s been overdone and we’ve seen it time and time again. So I went with a super minimal yet defined fox inner eye liner, kept the undereye shadow super minimal but added interest with a subtle pop of shimmer in the center lash line. I applied a nude waterline liner and brighter white matte shadow to her inner lid to extend the shape of her eye and create a focus to her sharp and perfected liner. And chiseled the heck out of her cheekbones to slim out her face to further snatch this look. The placement of not only the cheek contour, but also the contrasting demarcation of highlight foundation against the contour creates a focal point to her flawless red ombre lip. The lip itself was etched freehand with a deep berry liquid lipstick by @stilacosmetics called “Forza” and the inner lip was @narsissist “Star Woman”. The undereye glitter pop, the strength in the contour guiding your eye to perfectly faded bold lip, the precise yet minimal winged liner are all significant and intentional choices that create impact. Anyone can apply makeup to the “correct” parts of the face. How that makeup is applied in layers and strokes separates your general makeup artists from legends.
