A big day! I have the keys to the brand new Maine House Studio and we’re ready for fit out 💙I’m so excited to be bringing this space to life, a place that will showcase our design style with a shoppable window front that will change seasonally. A lovely big board room table for our presentations and open plan studio space so I can easily collaborate with my team of 5. There’s lots happening at MHI, including the launch of our Maine House Collection, which will be first seen in the studio window in time for Cup Day weekend. Wish us luck for these busy few weeks…the heels will be put away and replaced with activewear, it’s all hands on deck to bring this vision to life, one I thought was many years away. I’m feeling every bit like a small child before Christmas. The anticipation of opening my new studio in Mount Eliza and the launch our new sister company ‘Maine House Collection’ is too much! It has however given me more time to review, refine and perfectly curate the limited range of pieces that will be available to purchase via my website and viewed in my new studio display window . A hand selected collection of my antique and vintage finds, commissioned Australian artworks like this little snapshot, along with divine sets of bespoke hand painted plates, vintage pairs of porcelain lamps complete with bespoke shades. Not to mention timber inlaid side tables, the sweetest little ottomans, ready made cushions for bedrooms and living rooms and ruffle bottomed armchairs in my signature blues and whites. What a day! I still can’t believe we experienced an earthquake this morning here in Victoria, from my little Mt Martha to my sister in Mt Buller! A nice walk along the beach and this clifftop this afternoon calmed my nerves, I always feel so peaceful by the sea 💙
