JEHOVAH RAPHA Definition - “The God Who Heals.” (3 ways God heals) 1. God heals physically 2. God heals past wounds 3. Psalm 103:3: “Who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,” 2. Psalm 147:3 : He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. 3. Jeremiah 33:6: “Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.”

God is ALWAYS good! It’s so easy to praise and thank God when your life is good. BUT God is also good even when you don’t like the way things are going or when you face a situation you don’t understand. In the past few years, like so many others, I’ve battled chronic health issues. Many days have been harder than I could have imagined. Recently I’ve experienced progress in my energy and I’m so thankful for that! But I’ve continued to feel God’s goodness even in the hard times. You may enjoy God on the mountain tops, but you get to know him in the valleys. “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:29‬ ‭NIV‬‬ If you are going through something difficult or Painful right now, I’m praying that God would give you peace and reveal himself to you in a very real way.

In Matt 4:19 - Jesus said “Come follow me,” to his first disciples, and he says the same to us today. And what’s so cool about this is Jesus, He doesn’t just know the WAY, but he is the WAY. And if God wants us to “Come follow him.” Then all we need to do is take a step of obedience and walk and he’ll provide what we need along the way. Because He is Jehovah Jireh (our provider.) Just think about, when Jesus said, “Follow me.” I’m sure the disciples had no idea the amount of miracles they would encounter along the way. It’s such a blessing that we ALL are INVITED and CREATED to be a part of what God is doing. Let’s simply choose, today and everyday to walk with Him.

Four Ways to Better Understand Scripture: 1) Every time you read the Bible, consider what it reveals about God. 2) Keep track of every time God makes promises and keeps them. 3) Look for the big themes of Scripture. 4) Always, always, ALWAYS pay attention to the context!

3 ways to read through the entire Bible and understand the big picture: As believers, a goal we have is to read the Bible and study it so we can understand its message, its story and its purpose. Once we understand God’s overall message to us, it’s easier to apply the teachings of scripture in our daily lives. For context, the Bible is a book that has 66 separate books in all. All of these smaller books come together to form one unified story, starting in Genesis and ending in Revelation. The story is about the (one) true God and His plan to restore a fallen creation to Himself through the person and atoning work of Jesus Christ. In his love, God became flesh in His son Jesus who died and rose again so we could be forgiven. God sent us the Holy Spirit who helps us to live a life worthy of our identity as children of God. There are 3 ways you can read the Bible to understand this amazing story for yourself. 1. For the big picture: READ - the beginning, middle and end: Genesis (the beginning), John (the middle/gospel), and Revelation (the end). 2. For the gospel message of Christ and what He did for YOU: READ - Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans. 3. For the WHOLE Bible: READ - Genesis to Revelation with a Bible plan. You can choose the right one for you you on the free Youversion Bible App. You can read through the whole Bible in one month, six months, one year or more. You can choose a plan based on how much time you want to spend reading each day. Whichever way you choose to read the Bible, ask God to open your eyes to help you receive the truth of what you are reading. Remember as you do read through the Bible, you can’t read the Bible every day without it changing your life!

Tips for a Christ-Centered (long distance) relationship: (Put God First) - The most important thing you can do is always put God first in your relationship. (Encourage Each Other Towards Christ) - By pointing each other back to Jesus, you’re being proactive against sin. So, how can you encourage each other towards Christ? You can - Talk about what God has been teaching you. You can share a Bible verse that recently stood out to you. Or you can ask how you can be praying for one another.  (Be Clear With Communication) - Make sure you’re both on the same page when it comes to expectations and boundaries. So you can honor God and each other. (Be sure to have an accountability partner/mentor) - ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭4‬:‭10‬ - “If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”

Life has felt unreal recently! - Thanking Jesus every single day!!!!! 🤍🤍🤍

Telling people about Jesus is such a joy when you realize what God has saved you from, and what God has saved you to do. Paul laid out the single ambition of his life to testify to the good news of God’s grace. - Grace refers to the love God shows to us, through Jesus. We don’t deserve it, and we can never earn it. Our sin made the cross necessary. Each of us are guilty and deserving of punishment forever. BUT GOD pursues people in his love (Luke 19:10) and freely forgives people when they turn to Jesus in repentance. (Hebrew 9:14) Let’s join Paul, in sharing about the grace of God: “Join with me in suffering for the gospel by the power of God he has saved us, and called us to a holy life, not because of anything we have done, but because of his own purpose and grace was given to us in Christ Jesus, before the beginning of time.” (2 Timothy 1:8-9) God has saved his people from eternal punishment by his generous and merciful grace. For those who remember that they are saved to new life in Jesus by his grace alone, sharing about the good news in incredible joy.
