I’m SO excited to finally announce that next year, I will be the Art Teacher at the biggest elementary school in Brattleboro, while their regular art teacher takes the next year off. I can’t wait to share my love of the arts with all of the K-6th kiddos and omg, I already have some pretty lofty and FUN ideas!!🤣🎨🖌️🧑🏼🎤 I’m so grateful to have this opportunity and it is truly such an honor to work full time at my favorite school, with the staff and kids that I already love and adore. (Also, it’s Ava and Ranger’s school!!🤪) I’m so, SO lucky! ❤️❤️❤️
Hello friends!! It’s been a little while! I’m still here, plugging away, but just wanted to show you the new addition to our family! The cutest snuggliest little gray kitten that still has yet to get a name lol!! I have a big announcement about what I will be doing next year, but I have about a week more to wait before I can make it public! Miss y’all here on socials, how ya been?!?
One of a kind, toddler harems made from the coolest upcycled tapestry! . . . Thank you @beatvegan for the beautiful pic!❤️❤️

Hi everyone! In the fall of 2020, in addition to the world collapsing, my right hand was broken by a dog (not mine) and it never healed back to normal. My physical and mental health spiraled and to be honest, I still have a lot of digging out to do. I can’t sew like I used to anymore and there are cysts that formed at the bone break, that create constant pressure and pain in my dominant sewing hand. So, last year I found a manufacturing facility in MA and painfully pivoted to the T-shirt blankets. I had a company create a custom website for me with custom listings and a fancy app that communicated with the factory. We are talking thousands of $$ and months to create this website that never even worked correctly. Last year the labor costs at the factory jumped up significantly but I held on. Jan of 2023 they went up double from the year before and my business is no longer sustainable. I need to stop the bleed. In a few weeks I’m renting a box truck and picking up my thousands of yards of fabric from our factory in MA and I’ll figure out what next. I’ve been working this year in the public school system and I love it. It’s SO hard, heartbreaking and frustrating but I keep going back. I’ve started teaching quilting in the elementary school with Ava as my co-teacher and it has been awesome. I’m focusing on being co-chair of the kid’s PTO and between planning their school’s craft fair and spring dance, I barely have time to breathe these days. Joyaltee will always be something special to me but for now, I’ve got to put it down for a bit. I can no longer hold the weight of this business and it is no longer fun for me. What IS fun is being with my kids, my husband, our 4 kitties and living my life outside of Joyaltee. I am so grateful for everyone who has been here with me and I hope you stick around! I want to talk about things that interest me now like teaching sewing, ski jumping with Ava, cats etc! Maybe that’ll interest you too? We will keep our ETSY shop open and I have a bunch more baby pants to list from boxes here in my studio! Link in my profile ❤️. Thanks for reading this far. Much love, Alix
