Especially because ever since I hit my 30s, it was always a โcheck engine lightsโ kind of a situation for a different body part that I either had aches and pains or sustained some kind of a low grade injury. ๐ But jokes aside, I wanted to take the time today to finally share with you guys something special. As many of my family, friends and loved ones know, I didnโt get into personal training and coaching going through the traditional educational route. I always loved learning, but I didnโt find my passion until much later. It actually found me. I love working with people, and combining the fitness and coaching aspect together was the start of something truly amazing to say the least. Iโve been a trainer and coach for over 10+ years. Iโve worked with hundreds of amazing humans both in person and online, and if youโre one of my past or current clients, you know just how much I love what I do. That is why I created my brand and business: Muscle Majstor. Majstor in Serbian means ๐ค๐ณ๐ข๐ง๐ต๐ด๐ฎ๐ข๐ฏ or ๐ข๐ณ๐ต๐ช๐ด๐ข๐ฏ, but itโs also a form of expression when someone tells you that youโve accomplished something. Majstor is also a part of my momโs maiden name: Majstorovic. Family means everything to me, so to attach something that has family value in my business reflects my character and integrity that I want to carry into a legacy to be remembered by. Iโve noticed a recent trend lately of active gym going individuals with normal every day jobs being pushed into the field of โInstagram Personal Trainingโ out of necessity with the current times. Although being a personal trainer can be one of the most rewarding careers with a lot of benefits, especially now, it takes a lot more than a decent physique and general idea of movement to take on the full-time responsibility of a client trusting you with their hard earned money and health. We as fitness professionals take the dreams and hopes of our clients and manage them using our education and experience. Personal training and coaching is not a part time passion. I genuinely love what I do and am fully invested in each and every one of my clients specific needs and goals. I am also continuously seeking education and knowledge through certifications, researching and studying. I avoid making claims on โwhat will work for me will work for youโ. My clients success is accomplished with periodized training programs, specific science based nutrition recommendations and realistic expectations based on individual lifestyles. If it wasnโt for my time invested in reading, researching, taking courses, attending seminars and hiring professionals/mentors, I too would be sucked into the ๐ฝ of regurgitated โinfoโ found on the web. However, as simple as it may be, it is still highly individual and what works for one person, will not work for the other. Every individual Iโve worked with had their own specific approach when it comes to training, nutrition, daily goals and the overall lens of specificity (I.e. field of work, day to day non-negotiables, and moms/ parents with kids). There is also that fine line of whatโs realistic and optimal. Optimally we would all love to get the perfect training programs, the perfect nutrition, and avoid all the foods deemed as โtoxicโ nowadays. But weโre human. Life happens. In 2022 I enjoyed my best friendโs wedding dinner with all the works despite being 2 months out of a competition. The over thinker part of me thought that would ruin my chances of being in the peak physique I needed to be, but really it hardly didnโt do anything at all. It was actually the 4 weeks later where I caved in and gained 10lbs+ overnight but thatโs another post to write about ๐ Moral of the story, stop overthinking about everything with food and training. Follow something simple, and one that you can easily adhere to. Or just ditch the over thinking and hire a professional to take the over thinking process out for you๐

๐ Gather around and let me tell you folks a little story. ๐ซ Hereโs me in 2013 on the left, and hereโs me 6 weeks later on the right. Swipe to the next slide, thatโs me an additional 6 weeks later with the homie(oh and natural in case youโre asking) ๐ช๐ป You can tell I have some muscle and a decent baseline to start. It was the first time I counted calories and followed macros, a specific training plan and cardio regime. ๐ฒ There was rigid structure, but there was also clueless me because I had zero clue about creating full balanced meals for the said macros. It wasn't perfect, but it was the start of something awesome and later epic(because I actually listened to my friends and coaches on showcasing the legs and not just my upper torso for future competitions). So whatโs the point of this post youโre wondering? ๐ช It took me years to figure out the whole โgetting leanโ thing. ๐ฌItโs years of educated guessing. Itโs years of finding a balance of strength training and cardio programming that doesnโt feel overwhelming. Itโs food quantity but also QUALITY(big capital letters because helf) Donโt beat yourself if you havenโt figured it out the first time around. Or second time. Or third time. But if youโre still lost around the fourth timeโฆ Then consider hiring a qualified coach or trainer. Like me. ๐โโ๏ธ

One of the clearest ways a man can distinguish himself is on the field or on the court. He is like a modern-day gladiator whose weapon isnโt death, but domination. Sports are how men prove themselves, and a good athlete is a good manโperiod. This means spending hours in the gym to get in shape. Hours that turned into, weeks, months and years with the physique and size of comic book heroes that could stop a bad guy in their tracks. Around my teenage years, I was cornered and robbed at knifepoint by a man much bigger and more intimidating than me. Iโve never felt so weak in my life. It was the turning point in my adolescent years when I started to pursue personal fitness as a means of not just getting stronger, but being a larger and more dominant presence. In Lewis Howesโ book, โThe Mask of Masculinityโ, the author discusses in detail 9 different masks that men wear differently to seek self-worth. When I wore my Athlete mask, I became obsessed with being stronger, larger, and walking the talk of the career I eventually pursued in fitness. Although I recognize my self worth is not based on my physique or athleticism, my personal fitness journey paved the way for my self confidence and believing in myself. Will forever be that skinny nerdy kid at heart. Over 10 years later and the only thing thatโs changed is probably the hairline๐
