How to participate: 🖌️ Head to Burrinja to pay the registration fee and pick up an artboard (included in the fee) 🖌️ Create your masterpiece and return it between October 1st - 9th. 🎉 Congratulations Meg & Alan on both becoming @westfieldknox Local Hero finalists! 🌱 Founder and counsellor at @treklearningcentre in #Olinda, Meg Yates is planting the seeds for a brighter future for vulnerable children with her therapeutic farming program at Trek. Teaching organic farming principles, animal care and cooking and barista skills, the hands-on program is a circuit breaker for the impacts of childhood trauma - violence, neglect and harm - and helps prepare young individuals for employment or study. 🍲 @foothills_care Volunteer kitchen manager Alan Deans makes a considerable difference in the lives of locals doing it tough. He has worked with Foothills Community Care for 16 years, where he has served up more than 36,000 healthy meals to hungry people every Wednesday night. He also puts on a Christmas feast for 230 people every year. 🏆 Meg and Alan are 2 of the 6 finalists this year. @westfieldau Local Heroes are nominated and voted for by their communities, with the three top finalists per Westfield centre each awarded a $10,000 grant for their affiliated organisation. 🗳️ Vote for your Local Hero at https://www.westfield.com.au/knox
