As a halal-certified establishment, it’s a welcoming gathering spot for friends from all walks of life. During our visit, we had a sumptuous Badshah Platter that offer a medley of flavours, featuring well seasoned Chicken Malai Tikka, Fish Achari Tikka, Mutton Seekh, Beef Bihari, Mutton Masala Chops, and Garlic Tiger Prawns atop fragrant Biryani rice. The Chicken Reshmi Handi, while not spicy, is creamy and rich, made with boneless chicken, yogurt, cream, cheese, capsicum, and a blend of fresh spices. The Mutton Kayla Karahi, slow-cooked with tomatoes, ginger, garlic, and fresh spices over charcoal added layer of depth. The Palak Aloo was a combination of stir-fried potatoes and spinach infused with aromatic spices. We also have the Garlic Naan, Roghani Naan, and Tandoori Lachha Paratha, each complementing the dishes perfectly. We ended our dinner with the sweet notes of Kheer, a rice pudding topped with crushed nuts, and traditional Pakistani Kulfi. Pumpkin is considered a superfood, known for its abundance of nutrients, including beta carotene, vitamin C, iron, zinc, fiber, lutein, and zeaxanthin. Additionally, it’s low in calories, making it an excellent choice for those who are mindful of their weight. During our visit, we tried their Bacon Pork Pumpkin Porridge and the Crab Pumpkin Porridge. The addition of pumpkin transforms the flavor of your typical white porridge into something uniquely sweet and savory, with delightful hints of earthiness and nuttiness. What truly impressed me was the generous amount of ingredients in both porridge bowls. In the Bacon Pork Pumpkin Porridge, the bacon contributes a delightful smokiness, while their crispy youtiao adds a satisfying crunch to both dishes. On the other hand, the Crab Pumpkin Porridge offers a distinct oceanic essence, creating a completely different flavor profile compared to the Bacon Pork Pumpkin Porridge. To enhance the experience, we even added a touch of vinegar halfway through, which introduced a refreshing twist of its own. This was a remarkable departure from the ordinary porridge experience, and I highly recommend @porridgeboy.sg to anyone with a craving for porridge.
