It’s only fitting that out very first anniversary beer be a Munich Dunkel, the original brown lager (in our opinion). We had a blast collaborating with the folks at @crookedlanebrewing on this one. So what the heck is a Munich Dunkel? This is one of those beers that sounds way fancier than it really is. The first word, Munich, refers to both the name of the city where this lager originated from (Munich, Germany) and the type of malt used: Munich Malt. The second word, Dunkel, is German for dark, which perfectly describes the color of this lager, a rich dark amber. But enough of the history lesson, you say. The real question is “how can you get your hands on this lager?” Well, listen up, and play close attention, because this lager is going to go FAST. The Munich Dunkel will officially release at the start of @sfbeerweek on February 11th. It will be available at our Richmond Taproom and several Bay Area/Sacramento retailers on draft only. We’ll post a full list of all those accounts carrying our Dunkel in the next few days. If you’re a retailer and would like to carry the Dunkel please reach out to our sales team.

For us, it’s not just about what’s inside the cans. Did you know that our can design is inspired by the hulls of ships that come and go from the Port of Richmond? Traditionally the color below the waterline (the bottom half) is painted with an anti-fungal paint to prevent barnacles and seaweed from sticking. The top half is traditionally painted in the company’s color.
