During times of uncertainty it can be important to regain control of our health by focusing on the things we can control, as opposed to having anxiety over the things we can’t. Here are some of my suggestions for protecting your health during these times: 💦Drink adequate water. Not only is this important for lung health, dehydration can increase blood pressure unnecessarily. As a rule most people need between 2-4L a day depending on activity levels and weight. 🍓Consume as many fruits/veggies as possible. Aim for a variety of color and 6-9 cups a day. These antioxidant rich foods help counter act the oxidative damage from the smoke 🌿Water your indoor plants! Plants are nature’s air filters so taking care of your indoor plants is key during times like this 💨Check your furnace filter regularly and change often. This can even mean within days of installing new ones. If you have the capacity to turn your air onto circulation as well that can also be helpful. 🕯️Run essential oil diffuser in the house so long as its GOOD quality products (ie don’t put further strain on your lungs with perfumes/poor quality products) Clinic Treatment Options: 1️⃣NAC orally is an important antioxidant support that reduces lung inflammation as well as loosens up mucus. 2️⃣Glutathione nebulizer - this is the most potent antioxidant in our body and can be nebulized (ie breathed in) as another treatment option. This is great for an immediate effect on lung health and can be done frequently during times of poor air quality 3️⃣Glutathione IV - another option for getting this important antioxidant in the body is via IV 4️⃣Custom IV - we can customize IV’s to include high doses of vitamin C, B vitamins, key minerals, and supportive anti oxidants 5️⃣Vitamin C - this can be taken orally and/or as an IV to help reduce inflammation and provide potent antioxidant support 6️⃣Vitamin D smoke exposure reduces your production of this key vitamin. One of my favourite areas to treat with filler is the nose. It’s a delicate procedure but it’s results are incredible when done correctly. Many injectors choose not to treat the nose as it’s known as a higher risk area and it is if the injector has little experience with this area.
