SMOKERS LINES | Did you know you don’t have to be a smoker to get smokers lines? An interesting phenomenon that happens, to women in particular, is that as we age we lose collagen and skin thickness around the lips. We have oestrogen receptors that keep the skin healthy and supple. As we lost estrogen, our skin starts to produce less collagen. This shows up as lines and creases, particularly as we pucker, talk and sip from a glass. We treated this patient with 1ml of skin booster (otherwise known as “thin” dermal filler) to reduce the smokers lines and thicken the skin, making it less likely to crease. One option to address these lines is the use of Skinboosters, a really thin type of dermal filler. Skinboosters help to improve skin health, glow and hydration. Some create some volumizing effects as well as healthy looking skin. Other skinboosters are injected for skin health and glow and add no volume at all.. For this patient Dr D’Anna used a skin booster to reduce the smokers lines, and also produces a small amount of enhancement.
