Our last cycle of handbuilding 5 week workshops begin next week. The workshop will guide absolute beginners through the basics of handbuilding techniques such as coiling, pinching and slab with a final glazing session. Just in season for Day of the Dead! The student work from the 5 Week Handbuilding workshops is now queuing their way into their final glaze firing. It's our birthday!!! 7 years ago this evening was Crown Works first class!!! So much has happened, the space is now 4 times the size it was, plus we have our own kiln room, we have rescued a cat, have a resident dog all the way from Mexico, had a visiting fox in the glaze storage area and of course have a range room, members room, throwing room and handbuilding room!!! We support 21 artists on a regular basis through employing them as teachers and technicians and love teaching so many people this amazing craft. We now have our own range too! I would like to thank everyone, past and present, that has helped make what Crown Works is today, for all your hardwork, support and enthusiasm. Forever grateful for the home from home feel the studio provides. Thank you, Getta x 🥰

Our last week of throwing and making new pots. As of next week all our students from the 6 week course will start learning the technique of trimming or turning. This is done after the work has had a day or so to dry and firm up into a leather hard stage.
