God gave us each other to walk alongside, encourage, spur one another in love. We are to carry each other’s burdens, care for each other’s practical needs, warn each other of sin, and rejoice with each other. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Last night our community came together to rally for a skate ministry and park that has made an impact for over 25 years. Recently our local church gave us just a few weeks notice that it would be shut down. It was a tough meeting but it was great to see all the support and hear the impact. @jamiefoy came with his mom because it was the park he grew up at. @jakeilardi showed up and numerous skaters, parents and people in the community. As we reflect on the many years we are being bombarded with all the amazing times our community had together. This oldie is a video filmed by @twitch720 when @jamesrneveils and @jamie_foy came out to California with us over 15 years ago for the Skate Conference. Even if the doors close, these are memories we will cherish and the community here in South Florida will continue despite the building. It reminds us of Lamentations 5:21, “Restore us to yourself, O Lord, that we may return; renew our days as of old.” When these words were first spoken, the prophet and his people were focused on God’s restoration of Israel back to their place in Judea, their prominence in the world of nations, their beauty in daily life, and their worship and security in the Temple of the Lord. From our vantage point, this prayer can be our prayer as well. Restoration can mean so many things. It may not be in the original place but I truly believe that God will restore all that has been lost.

The community showed up last night but in spite of our efforts Ramp 48 will still close the doors at the end of the month. One more Tuesday night Bible study, a best trick this weekend on the 22nd and a final farewell on the 30th. Keep praying for a miracle and a local facility to move these ramps to.

Has there ever been a person in your life that feels like they are consistently out to get you? A thorn in your side? For the last several years I have struggled with a person who i felt judged our way of leadership and honestly felt like they have just had it out for us. It has truly bothered me. Why? Because as believers I always felt we are supposed to have one another’s backs and lift each other up in ministry. But I can choose to focus on that or continue to focus on what I know God has called us to do. Could we do things better or different? Absolutely. We trudge on serving the Lord in the best capacity we can. I am certain that God called us to encourage our community of skaters. Some may not understand it but I know He created us to stand out and not fit in. We are simply part of the body and we all have a unique function. If we all served the same way it would not be effective. But being a “people pleaser” I have always struggled with seeking the approval of others. Each day I must get up and choose to keep my eyes fixed on Christ and His promises. It is not easy for me but like each of us I am a work in progress. If you struggle with this you are not alone. May the Lord help us to keep our eyes fixed on Him and not on men who might pull us down and distract us. Change can be challenging, especially when it involves something as dear to your hearts as the youth facility and skatepark that has been a cherished part of your lives for over 25 years. However, we are called to find hope even in the midst of change and uncertainty. Scripture tells us in Jeremiah 29:11 that God has plans for each one of us. Plans for prosperity, not harm. Plans that offer hope and a future. This verse reminds us that, even in moments of loss, God is at work, crafting something new and better for us. 🛹 @jacob.hunter120

“So who you tryin' to please, anyway?" These words from my dad still ring in my ears. His point? There are only two voices we MUST please: Our Father in heaven, because all praise and honor are due him. Ourselves, because we want to know that we've done our best and been the best we could be for God. Over the years, however, I've learned that I can't begin to honor the second voice very well without seeking the first will of the Father, the heart and character behind the first voice. Don't you hope that someday you reach the place where you can join Jesus in saying with absolute assurance: "I seek not to please myself but him who sent me!" The closer we approach that reality, the more we realize that we can't do anything of eternal significance on our own. Only when we live to honor God do we achieve the significance and have the impact that our lives were made to have. 📸 @christianskaterssv

In an age where respect is little known and even less practiced, showing honor for those who are older is often overlooked. Yet in this scripture, by the Lord's own word, showing respect for those older than us ranks right up there with reverencing God. But then we shouldn't be surprised since God made honoring parents the very first commandment directed at our relationship with others (Exodus 20:12-17). (The first four commandments were directed at our relationship with him — Exodus 20:1-11). Let's be distinctive in contrast to most of the world: let's honor, respect, and care for those who have come before us.

God “will give to each person according to what he has done” (Psalm 62:12). To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. —Romans 2:6-7 God not only seeks after us, but he also desires a relationship with us — he longs for us to seek after him and after matters that are important to him. When we persistently seek his glory by doing good deeds and seek eternal values rather than temporal things, he is overjoyed to give us what he has always designed for us: eternal life with him and influence on others for good. In other words, the seeking God is always looking for those seeking him! 🛹 @instalessjairus
