Over the weekend the final leg of the @gravelearthseries23 went down in Catalunya, the place where it all started back in May with @thetraka. And just like back then, @mattia_de_marchi stood ready to toe the line. Unlike the Traka 360, Mattia didn’t end up with the win at the Gravel Earth final. But with four punctures he still managed to claw himself back to fourth place and seal the overall series win. Proving he isn’t just an incredibly consistent rider, but also that his mind is as strong as his legs! Sam Laidlow is this year's IM World Champion! After his breakthrough 2nd place performance during last year's IM World Championships in Kona, the expectations have, rightfully so, been weighing heavy on @samlaidlow ever since. But a string of bad luck this season has kept Sam from proving that his impressive showing in Hawaii wasn't a fluke. Until yesterday, that is. On home soil, the 24-year-old French phenomenon proved he wasn't a one-hit wonder by piecing together a masterclass performance worthy of the IM World Champ crown. A title he's now the youngest-ever male winner to hold. "I was just a kid saying that I wanted to be World Champ, and here I am", Sam uttered through tears in his emotional post-race interview. And indeed you are, Sam - we couldn't be prouder of you! And a very honorable mention also goes out to our friend @magnuselbaekditlev who battled home to take 3rd place even though he wasn't on his best of days. In Nice, our man in the field @975del naturally has made sure to stop by his countryman and current World Record holder @magnuselbaekditlev to take care of some final tunings before Sunday's big race. On a rare occasion, Dennis was thrown a curveball by Magnus' monster 60 x 11/34 one-by setup and left momentarily puzzled when he didn't have a new chain with sufficient length. But, luckily it's going to take more to shake up a seasoned veteran like Dennis. So, after a thorough degreasing, an impromptu sink-and-toothbrush rinse, and a full UFO Drip Wax coating, Magnus' chain was left as fresh as ever.
