We thought it would be fun to share some early studies, explorations and assets that were created along the way of developing the brand identity for @yolitortilleria. We knew from the beginning we wanted to find a way to include one of the owners mother into the brand. She was a huge inspiration to business and their family. The first image is some logo studies that were never shared, followed by a brand study that was never used, then some logo concept sketched and the the last 3 images are some of the final Yoli brand materials. We love the incredibly hard working and talented team at Yoli Tortilleria. We’re so proud to continue to collaborate with them. Working on a few new restaurant brands currently and thinking about environmental space and the interaction of that space with physical menus. The best environmental menu system should add value to the overall dining experience and should extend the overall brand experience. We personally are always exploring new innovative ways for clients to maintain and update their physical menus (not just digital screens but other analog solutions too). In the end, these menu systems should really be assisting in getting people excited to order and get that delicious food. Nom-Nom amIright? #carpentercollective_work

Working on a few new restaurant brands currently and thinking about hand held menus. A good menu should be a welcome, an inviting navigational tool to the brand. I mean really it should just make you hungry (or thirsty). Designing menus can feel like a big puzzle we need solve. They're opportunities for us to explore materials, finishes, sizes, forms. Education has been a core value from the very start for our client. To help with this objective, our team created various applications that broke down their offerings and benefits in simple terms. When designing the interior and exterior signage system and overall retail experience for WholesomeCo Cannabis we wanted to create a signage and hospitality system that is clean, simple and warm. When you visit WholesomeCo the experience should speak to the quality of WholesomeCo’s products and the approachable staff who are there to assist and educate you. The packaging system for WholesomeCo Cannabis was vital within the clients brand story. WholesomeCo not only has a retail space but also delivers product throughout the Salt Lake City region. The packaging system was a crucial way of reinforcing the brand’s story long after a purchase. When developing the brand symbol for WholesomeCo, we wanted to make a subtle nod to the cannabis flower but do so in an approachable way. We also found inspiration in the beauty of the Utah landscapes, specifically the rock cairns/stacks a hiker might find on a trail. These found rock stacks tell hikers, yes, you are on the right path—keep going. A comforting brand message we hope also resonates with WholesomeCo consumers. #carpentercollective_work
