The choice of living as close as possible to nature was the turning point in Sarah & Tori’s (@sarahyak_ , @toriprince) relationship. Connecting the LGBTQIA+ community to nature has always been @jcrienton’s main mission. After years of exploring the outdoors in search of his community, JC found @lgbtoutdoors, an organization that brings together generations of LGBTQIA+ members who have a passion for nature and encourages them to be their true selves. ‘’When I needed a place to pull away from the hectic aspects of life, it was in the outdoors where I found space and tranquility. I needed those things to understand who I am as a person, seek opportunities to grow and accept the things that I can't change. It was in the stillness of the outdoors that I learned not only to accept myself but to embrace myself.‘’ This is how JC inspires us all the #LiveInTheOpen​

Discovering communities around the world is what united Luca & Alessandro (@the_globbers). Born in Italy, the couple soon embarked on an adventure that has taken them to all corners of the world. A promise of love to each other that never fails to encourage them to explore the outdoors openly. ‘’Sometimes we forget the power that nature has over us, discovering our most vulnerable side. Think about how many times you have stopped in front of the sea, walked barefoot on the grass, or breathed the air of a forest, and the effect it had on you. Being a photographer was always @KaneCandrade's dream, but it felt like his true calling when he started to portray and celebrate each and everyone's path to becoming their authentic self. “As a trans man I've found a sense of peace being in the outdoors. I didn't grow up knowing anything about hiking, backpacking and camping. It wasn't until my adulthood that I started exploring that more. It can be scary getting out of your comfort zone but part of me thrived in that discomfort. That lack of familiarity I felt in the wilderness was similar to the lack of familiarity I had felt within myself and my gender journey my entire life. Experiencing a deeper understanding of nature allowed me to experience a deeper understanding of myself.” This is how Kane inspires us all to #LiveInTheOpen

Capturing people authentically is what motivated Shannon (@nowthisisliving) to become a filmmaker. Through her lens we follow her journey: one not only led her to highlight the empowering stories of the LGBTQIA+ community but also to meet the love of her life, Becky. ‘’Our first trip together was a road trip to the Grand Canyon back in 2020. The van we rented broke down and we had to replace all four tires after they melted on the highway in Arizona. It was perfectly imperfect. The last few years have been wild ones for everyone but when it gets too loud, we go outside. We reconnect while we disconnect from everything else. Nature always allows us to be perfectly imperfect.’’ This is how Shannon & Becky inspire us all to #LiveInTheOpen
