β’ meet Arsh Raziuddin β’ The love on the new brand was FELT yesterday so we are sending it right back. We worked with designer and art director @arshraziuddin to bring our brand to life. When not catching the vibes at @odetobabel she's dropping covers for @bonappetitmag and crushing it at @theatlantic and @nytimes We chatted with Arsh about her design process and the evolution of the Babel brand. Read below or peep our stories. - BL: What were the driving themes behind this brand identity? AR: Community, Voices, Connection, Language, Heritage _ BL: What did Marva and Myriam share that helped influence direction? AR: Marva and Myriam dream big. I was able to take their vision of the space and translate it into Babels brand identity: a warm, vibrant, community membership ran by two Black women/ sisters / twins. _ BL: What excites you about the new space? AR: I always had so much fun at Ode to Babel, and Iβm excited for Myriam and Marva to expand on the idea of a bar space and transform it into so many ideas. The possibilities are endless _ BL: What's your background and how's you get into design? What are some other projects you're super proud of? AR: Iβm a designer and artist born outside of DC. I studied visual arts and printmaking, and have primarily worked in agencies and magazines in NYC. I was a part of The Atlantic redesign in 2019, redesigned Bon Appetit in 2021, and Iβm currently designing the first Muslim literary magazine in the US, Acacia. _ BL: What about the Babel brand ethos resonates with you as a creative? AR: The brand feels inclusive, safe, and collaborative. It is flexible and focuses on growth and change (in all forms) β¨β¨β¨
