Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Mariah @Mariahxorivera

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am currently modeling for an agency that is progressively growing! I am also attending college and traveling the world! I come from a very loving family I would say, but we are super dysfunctional lolol. I am Puerto-Rican and Italian. You emailed me saying you wanted to feature me and so here I am! (:

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest are modeling and basically photography. I love promoting different brands and stuff like that as well. I post a lot of modeling and my travels on Instagram the most.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It’s actually super simple lolol. I wanted to separate my first and last name somehow but subtly and cute and so I was like “xo”. And so Mariahxorivera was born!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use Afterlight for most of my filters and then I put it in Squaready for the border. I used to use Afterlight to smooth my pictures and stuff out, but not so much anymore.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I don’t really have any instagrammers that inspire me that much. I mean, I come across beautiful feeds and layouts with super pretty human beings and they kind of inspire me to take better pictures and for my feed, but I don’t really follow them afterwards lol

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

MAKE A FINSTA TOO! I have a find ya but I kind of go away from the rules. A finsta is supposed to be like a very lowkey Instagram of ugly selfies and stuff, but I made mine public and I spam on it and so it gives my followers a better insight of who I actually am behind the screens lol.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love helping others and to inspire others. I’ve had a lot of people support me and tell me that my stuff brightens their day and cute things like that and so it really keeps me going.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

BE UNIQUE. Do not copy others and if you do…put your own spin on it! Also, be nice to the people who you want to promote your stuff. For example, if you want me to promote some of your clothing or whatever you sell…send me an item to take a picture with so I can actually promote it to my fans. There are lots of people who use slick gimmicks like “if 10 people use your code THEN we will send you a free ….” that is a big NO NO because you are taking advatange and using me.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality and originality is the main thing. You want to have your brand represent what you sell and to be unique. For example, if I think of your work I want to think of YOU as the ONLY person who works like that. I don’t want to think that I can get your product somewhere else or something better or more unique. You know what I mean?

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love sharing my input and the free stuff of course! I also love sharing really cool things with my fans, especially things that I really like and think they will like. I also like helping people.
