Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Holly Batton @Invisiblecrowne_blog

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I have a fashion blog and a full time job right now. I went to ASU for my undergraduate degree then went to the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in LA for Merchandise Product Development. After I graduated from FIDM I was the product developer/designer for a clothing line for about a year. I am originally from Maryland and a few things ended up bringing me back to my hometown. Since the opportunities are few and far between here I started my fashion blog and my dream is to design my own clothing line eventually. I am work toward loosing my 9-5 to pursue my passions full time.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I am interested in affordable fashion, I love the hunt to find a piece of clothing or an accessory at a great price. I fully believe that you do not have to spend a lot of money to be stylish. My Instagram posts consist of my outfits with a link in my profile to be able to purchase the look on my blog, my american bulldog Beni (he has a patch on his eye and tiger stripes on his back, he is the cutest!), my travels and photos with my fiancé/bff’s. I just recently got engaged and decided to post one of the photos from the engagement on my Instagram feed and it was so great to connect with my followers on another level like that!

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name is my blog name which is Invisible Crowne. My goal is for everyone to feel like they are wearing a crown at all times, because when you look good you feel good and with that you can do anything. I think everyone has a different definition of what looking good means so I encourage people to really find their style and go with it. If my clothing posts with links to purchase help someone find their style and in some way make them love themselves more I have done my job!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use VSCO to edit my photos. I like to play with the exposure, contrast, clarity, sharpen temperature and skin tone tools to create a clear and balanced photo without it looking too filtered or fake.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I am obsessed with marianna_hewitt (all of her photos are perfection and her feed is gorgeous), blaireadiebee (her style is so unique and vibrant), annawithlove (her feed is a dream and so interesting), Sincerelyjules (her photos are also perfection and she tells a great story on her feed) and songofstyle (she is a top fashion blogger and i am blown away by her)

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I would say post a less than perfect photo of yourself. It shows some vulnerability and that is hard to find in the Instagram world, no one is perfect so sometimes people connect a lot easier knowing they have a connection with you in some way.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Being able to connect with so many people i never would connect with. When I get a comment I love to look at that persons profile to see what they are all about. Its fun to see the world through another persons lense.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I go by the rule: if it is not something you would actually do/wear/see etc. in real life then don’t do it. All of my photos are snapshots of my actual life so I don’t have to make anything up, i am just simply being myself. Going through all the different life experiences and the outfits I put together for them is so relatable because another girl could be going through the same thing or about to go through the same thing so they connect on those events.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality and original content are SO important. If you try to copy what someone else is doing then you will not succeed because you are not that person. Being yourself is the best way for people to get to know you and understand you and if someone doesn’t like it they don’t have to follow you. You really want people who understand your brand and agree with your point of view to be following you, not the haters.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I like partnering with brands because it gives your followers a sense of what you like and why. I love that it helps a business grow and prosper as well as getting their brand message across. It is always flattering when a brand want to work with me, it shows that the agree with my point of view, sense of style and overall message.
