Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Codey Centers @Codey.centers.official

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m Codey Centers, a 25 year old independent/indie country musician/artist, singer songwriter. Born and raised in a tiny town in Kentucky, raised up on home cooking, traditional/outlaw country music, and the southern/country way of life. I enjoy being outdoors, fishing, working on cars, trucks, anything with an engine basically. My #1 passions are music, singing, songwriting, and playing guitar, and relating to people through the melodies and lyrics of my songs. The coolest experience I’ve had with music so far was probably being in the top 5 in my regional finals for the Nash next 2016 contest through Nash fm radio stations. I was raised up lower class, and still struggle financially to say the least, but at least what I have I know I’ve worked for. If I didn’t earn it, I don’t need it. I’m a simple person, but complicated at the same time. A lot more to me than meets the eye. I’m also a bit of a tech geek, so I guess you could call me a "high tech redneck" haha. The only things more important to me than music are god, JC, and my family.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Music, covers, original songs, cars and trucks, fishing pictures, general photography

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It started out as countryguy91, because I’m a diehard country music fan and a country music artist, but it’s now Codey.centers.official because I want potential fans/followers to know my name when they look at my page. Just seems more personal and helps to connect with people better, I think.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Camera 360 pro, instagram filters, filterra, photoshop mobile, iPhone 6 Plus photo editing software, etc…

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Ben Haggard, Mitch Rossell, Garth Brooks, pretty much any super talented country musician or artist. Also Tj Lavin professional bmx rider, very cool guy, Chris Stapleton, many others.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Sitting outside at midnight, on a front porch miles from city limits and looking up at the stars and just relaxing. Taking a second to appreciate the world around them and all of its glory.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Being able to reach out to people and make an impact on them, and to introduce them to knee trends/ideas/products, and services they didn’t know about.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Use influencers! Let them do a bit of free lancing and take the reigns to a certain extent,. Get creative in your marketing approach. Use demonstrations, even if very basic and brief, to prove your service or product has value and is legitimate. Take advantage of instagrams live stream feature, as well as periscope, and other video streaming services. Use as many social media resources as available. Twitter, instagram, Facebook, blog sites, Pinterest, tumblr, and even craigslist to sell locally. Radio advertisements, and online advertisement placement as well, can bring in a lot of traffic, as well as even doing basic things such as making and spreading around flyers to local busInesses and such. The big one I think is to be less picky about the number of followers people have, of course they have to have a decent amount, but don’t require a ton. You never know when your product or service can be seen by the right few people, shared, then end up a huge success with loads of traffic and clientele. Word of mouth and a share button go a long way.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality beats quantity everytime, nobody wants a product that can’t be the same consistently, and deliver the same results to basically every customer. Originality is pretty important, but honestly it’s becoming harder and harder to be 100% original with new inventions every single day. If doing a spin off or re pop of an existing product, don’t make a carbon copy. Go a step above and beyond and make as minor, and inexpensive, yet efficient and constructive changes as possible to stand out and above competitors.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I’m yet to partner with a company, but I have had some opportunities, just none that interested me thus far. (Jewelry, makeup, things that the average man wouldn’t understand, or have much interest in.) But I think the teamwork and different perspectives between the influencer and company or brand intertwining to make sales and such is pretty awesome.
