Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Bosun The Frenchie @bosunthefrenchie

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am a 7 month old French bulldog. My parents are from NYC, but we’re currently living in Atlanta for 2 years. We have a 48′ sailboat, so I spend many weekends on the boat (summer in NYC, winter in Charleston, SC). We travel a bunch and I’m always along for the ride.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love to sail, so I often post photos from our boat. Mom likes to make videos of me being silly and generally being cute. My dad flies small planes, so I sometimes post photos of myself as the copilot. Id say my main interest is travel.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My name Bosun, is a job on a ship – the head of the deck crew. Since my parents are sailors, they chose a nautical name for me.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I edit some of my photos in Instagram and some in Camera+. I use Typic to add text (rarely) and Flipagram to add music to my videos.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I mostly follow other French bulldogs (frenchies). @chloetheminifrenchie is definitely a role model for would-be influencers. My favorite frenchie would have to be @lolabarksdale. Her captions are just so cute and funny.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

If you’re talking about a product to try, I’d have to say cheese. I could totally be the influencer for American cheese. Mom hides my allergy pills in it and it’s the most delicous thing ever. That and peanut butter. Yum!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I enjoy keeping my followers entertained. They’re following me because they like cute dogs, so I try very hard to give them as much dog cuteness as possible. I also make a point not to post contests, etc., so the content from me is all exactly what they want to see.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

So far I’ve posted with products from @frenchie_bulldog pet supply. I wear their products in the course of my normal activities, so it doesn’t look anything like an obvious ad. I think the followers appreciate the more subtle ad.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Your followers will only stick around if you keep feeding them good content, so I think it’s really important. I try very hard not to over or under deliver on the number of posts. I want people to enjoy it and remember and think of me.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

If it’s a good match, I think it’s a win-win for both of us. I’m happy to endorse something I like and it gives me the opportunity to grow my follower base and likes/shares. For the brand, they get a crazy cute frenchie endorsement and who wouldn’t want that! 😉
