Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Blanca Gutiérrez @blancasusanne

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Well first off, my name is Blanca and I am a 21 year old living to inspire others. I was born in Los Angeles and raised in Palm Springs. I do visual merchandising and set design. I am a brand ambassador. I enjoy living free-spirited, being spontaneous, and posting about my every day lifestyle in order to inspire the people looking at my stuff, whether it involves music, poetry, fashion, food, places, and new adventures.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Art, fashion, music, and poetry are my main topics of interest. I love to Instagram about my every day lifestyle and social life, my every day adventures, as well as the hidden gems around California. I aim to influence my followers in going out and exploring whats around them as well as discovering new places around their local area. I also Instagram my Spanish , Nicaraguan, and American lifestyle.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name is simple; basically its my first and middle name. Its Spanish with a little English to it.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

The top three apps that I use to edit my Instagram photos are Snapseed, ColorStory, and VSCO, all in that order. First, when it comes to adding brightness, rotation, or even sharpness to a photo, my go-to app is Snapseed. I then go to Colorstory to enhance my pictures just a little, and then upload the finishing touches on VSCO. This is where I finalize my picture and add a filter. I don’t usually add an entire preset filter, it’ll usually be half or less of it.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Three of my favorite instagrammers are Brittany Xavier (thriftsandthreads), Julie Sarinana (sincerelyjules), Natalie Lim Suarez (natalieoffduty). Jules Sarinana inspires me the most. Her every day fashion looks and lifestyle motivate me to try out putting new outfits together each day. Her motto is to dream, believe, and achieve, which I find inspiring. If you dream big and believe in yourself, you will achieve great things.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Taking on new risks and challenges! Who cares if they’re risky, either way you’ll learn something new in life and its great to take on new challenges that’ll teach you new things. Also, to be adventurous and live life to the fullest. Life too short to waste a minute of it. Go out and explore whats new around you.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part about being an influencer is being the reason as to why people are motivated to try out new things. Aspire to inspire, thats something I love to live by each day. I love having people reach out to me and ask for advice on how to live a joyful life, or even ask about the location of the places I Instagram about. That’s basically my favorite part; being the reason they are motivated to go out and seek.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

My top tip is to be yourself. You’re only authentic if you are unique. Always try bringing something new and different to the table. Don’t go around copying what is already out there. Seek new things and seek something others do not have that you can have. Always think outside the box.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

My advice would consist of staying unique to your content. Creating plenty of engagement is a big one. Consistency in staying original plays a big role. Updates and actionable content is what the audience strives to see. Therefore this is important. Staying true to your feed and not stealing from others’ is something one must maintain.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

The best part about partnering with brands is learning new things and making connections. It’s always a great opportunity to partner with brands or even becoming a brand ambassador for them. I get the opportunity to do what I love by representing them and also helping them benefit in their originality by posting about them. Making something known is what I take pride in. Theres so much the world has to offer and trying new things like partnering with different brands motivates me to continue doing what I do.
