Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Arthomepage @Arthomepage

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am an instagram art promoter from U.K. with an audience of over 220,000.
My role on instagram is to assist artists in having their artwork exposed and viewed by more people.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My instagram posts predominantly consists of Art, Photography, Natutre, Fashion & Beauty and Travel.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

The name ‘ArtHomePage’ was brought forth to me by my mother, suggesting that the page name should sound somewhat warm yet strong. i didn’t like the name as I thought it felt too prestigious, however it’s been almost 3 years now and it has just stuck. 🙂

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I don’t edit photo that I repost, however withthe photos that I take and post up online, I sometimes edit.
I enjoy using the editing app ‘Snapseed’ (Free from AppAtore & Playstore) as the app allows for beautiful blending of image textures and precision editing where you want it.
Another app I use is ‘Phonto’, Phonto allows you to input text, symbols and images upon one another to create that poster or promotional post with ease!
Last but not least, is the inhouse instagram editing features, yes this seems mundane, however since recent updates, I subconsciously find myself using the default editing features on the app to adjust and touch up my photos here and there.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

The instagrammer that gave me the propel I needed to kickstart my page is the one and only ‘arts_help’ I always remember the first time i contacted them seeking a ‘shoutout’ but instead was given advice. The fact I communicated with them alone was the drive I needed to keep up the page. ( you can give a man a fish, he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish, and he is fed for a lifetime).

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I’m my experience, if there’s one thing an instagrammer should Not do is Give Up!
Tenacity and drive are the tools you need to keep your instagram fresh.
Now back to the main question.. I honestly think if there is one thing every instageammer has just got to try, it would be to take your photos in natural daylight with substantial lighting upon the object your taking a photo of. If the photo is a selfie, try take the photo with out any distracting background, try a minimalist background with good foreground lighting, this way, the focus is just on you.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favoure part of being an influencer is influencing other small art sharing pages to keep going. And to also inspire artist to keep practising.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I believe brands are already doing a great job of running campaigns and thus leaves me with no further advice to offer.

However I will say, ‘keep it simple’ I.e. The instructions.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I cannot comment on ‘original content’ as most the content I post is not my own. However I can comment on the ‘importance of quality’.
Everyday I receive requests, emails, kik messages and comments asking about being featured on my page. Quite often the quality of the image isn’t up to scratch so I would have to ask them to take their photo again but make the artwork more clearer, or perhaps remove distracting object out of the photo. ..the point is, the queasily and presentation of the photo play a great part in how many times your instagram post is going to be seen by new viewers or how many like it will get or the engagement of the post.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

The best thing about partnering with brands is the fact that you connect with the brand that you love. For the brand this increases PR which is always good for independent organisation however for the customer, this is also a plus as it means they are given the opportunity to promote a product they love for the brand they love. That is what I love most about partnering with brands.
