It rained, and then the sun came. Little Sun is here!☀️ I roared this 10-pound boy into the world yesterday morning after eleven hours of completely undisturbed labor. Bringing him earth side was the hardest, most incredible, empowering, primal, liberating thing I have ever done in my entire life. I can’t put it into words just yet but he was birthed in water surrounded by candle light, had a nuchal cord wrapped around his neck and body, and was welcomed in the presence of only family. He is a triple Gemini(!), 4,6 kilos, 52cm and absolutely perfect. Our little sun. We are officially a family of four! I feel so proud. So happy. So STRONG. Choosing this path is the best decision I’ve ever made. #freebirth

Our little bear!! Mr Chunky cheeks! Bear boy! Baby bear, Finn-bop, Finnswa, Bearberry, Lilla Ny, Fontis, Little Guy, Björnen, Bubbles (the nicknames never end!). Finneas Sol Bear. Our son! We love him so much. He laughs and talks and loves to snuggle and only ever cries when he is crazy tired or when we go in the car (but much less now!). He loves to take baths and when we read to him but his favorite thing is to just be included. He isn’t the kind of Bear who sits off to the side in a bouncer on the floor, you know. He is the kind of Bear who wants to meet you at eye level. He wants to sit in the middle of the circle (or at the center of the dinner table) and be held with the same attention and spoken to with the same presence and as everyone else. This isn’t his first rodeo, you see. He’s been here before. More times than I have. And when you’re an old soul in a new body - and especially when you’re a Gemini sun, moon and mercury - you want to be seen! And heard. Have we had a single quiet dinner as adults since he was born? No. Do we mind? Not really. Soon he’ll be older and need us less and the time when we had a 3-month old talking our ears off and wanting to eye gaze intensely at every hour of the day will be long gone. 35!🎈 One year ago on my 34th birthday I woke up in the morning and took a pregnancy test. This week we celebrated my 35th in the city as a family of four! It’s been a big, beautiful, transformational year and I am just so thankful for it all. Pregnancy, birth, this postpartum time… It’s been magical. I can’t believe I’m 35. It’s the last day of September but today felt like the first day of fall🍂 Our first outing with Bear on an actual chilly day! Actually, our first outing with a baby on a chilly day ever. We visited my cousins farm and drank coffee and had carrot cake in the sun. I wanted to pick up some raw milk but forgot all my bottles! And we were supposed to pick corn but that didn’t happen either. But Lea played all day and Bear was so content and I’m wondering if we are out of the newborn bubble now? Just like that? Wasn’t I lying in bed all day soaked in breast milk with a newborn just a second ago? Time is wild. Well. Now we are home and I have soup cooking on the stove and baby bear is napping and I’m about to take a cold dip and go sit in the sauna. A very cozy day🍂🧡 #autumn

It’s rosehip season so we foraged some and made Apple-Rosehip Muffins! Cut the rosehips in half and scoop out the seeds with a small spoon. Dry them on the lowest heat setting in the oven with a wooden spoon wedged in the oven door for air to circulate (or use a dehydrator if you have one!). Leave until they are dry, then crush into a powder using a mortar and pestle or in a grinder/blender. Dried rosehips stored in an airtight jar last well into next years season so you can enjoy that vitamin C boost all year long❤️ Here is how to make use of those fall apples and rosehips at the same time: 2 cups flour 2 tsp baking powder 2,5 tsp cinnamon + 1tsp to coat apples 1 tbsp dried rosehip powder 1/2 tsp salt 2,5 cups diced apples 2 eggs 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup butter (room temp) 1 cup sugar 1 tsp vanilla Mix all dry ingredients together Sprinkle cinnamon over apples and set aside Cream together butter + eggs + sugar + vanilla Carefully dry and wet ingredients together, then add the milk Fold in apples! The cutest bear in the woods just turned 3 months! And daddy got him a cool guy flannel and a hipster dude hat just in time! Finn is… A dream come true. The sweetest little guy. Very introspective. Quiet, unless he has something important to say. He’s sensitive. Full of big thoughts. Spends most of the day in deep contemplation. Notices everything. A Bear sighting! In the city!!! A city bear!😍🐻 We had the best day. Easy car ride, yummy lunch, coffee and danishes, a bit of shopping and hugs with our favorite people. First visit to the city!!! It went so well and I’m just so proud of our little man. I mean look at him with his cool guy hat🥹 We’re back in our neck of the (literal) woods now and everyone is sleeping soundly. I’m grateful❤️
