The Nissan President is a Japanese luxury sedan manufactured by Nissan from 1965 until 2010 and was initially exclusive to the Japanese domestic market until the late 1980s where exports began to a few countries like Singapore and Hong Kong in limited quantities. This vehicle was Japan’s first full-size vehicle and was one of the few vehicles at the time to be marketed under the Nissan brand unlike other Nissan cars during this era which were branded under Datsun. Living up to its name, the Nissan President was the vehicle of choice for titans of industry and heads of state like Prime Minister Eisaku Sato who used one for transportation and helped give the President much needed publicity in its early years. As a response, Henry Ford reduced prices on the Model T and upgraded the options available on the vehicle but unfortunately this was still not enough for its customers. So in 1926, Ford directed his engineers to begin working on a new Ford car and the Model A was born. Read the full story on our online magazine (www.speedsuspects.com) #SpeedSuspects
In 1962 Carroll Shelby created Shelby American with a mission to build the ultimate sports car. He always wondered why no one in the United States built a car that offered European handling with the power of an American V-8 engine that could be easily serviced at any car dealership or independent garage. During a dream, he came up with the name for his car, the Cobra and began to think of how he would build this car and sell it for half the price of his European competitors. With the help of AC cars in Great Britain and Ford in the United States, the Shelby Cobra was able to go into full production marking the beginning of a very successful car building career for Carroll Shelby.
