Mixed media drawing on @karst.stonepaper available at rodluff.storenvy.com Thanks to @heyjontse for sending me the stone paper sketchbook to try out! It feels quite smooth to draw over and is excellent for detail. I started by sketching out the artwork first in pencil and shading out the forms. I used some black india ink with water to work in some more tones and dark outlines, the washes came out smooth. The paper didn't buckle with my washes and handled the wet media well. Then I primed the paper in GAC 100 and added a layer of oil colours - eg. the yellows and greens everywhere, as well as some pastel as well. You can still see the pencil underneath in the close up shots, as well as the inked lines. I'd recommend giving them a try!
