Time for a little @ecdlax #CarbonLTX shaft review. Full video review at the link in my bio! Background: I bought this shaft shortly after it’s release and have been using it as my gamer ever since, so I can speak a little more to it’s durability than usual. 1. Crazy light. With the end cap and throat plug, this shaft weighs in a smidge over 140 grams, which typically gives me pause, as I had yet to see a shaft that light hold up over time. BUT I have yet to break mine, and even went clean through a carbon d-pole on a shot, which is where I would expect this shaft to fail. Wider weaves like this are typically better with cross-check strength vs. slashing strength, which caters to my field style as I rarely slash. I’ll be super interested to see how long it lasts in box this year/how it breaks in the arena. 2. This is the stiffest carbon fiber shaft I’ve ever played with. I’ve slowly transitioned towards stiffer shafts over the years as I find them to be a bit more consistent/they cater to my baby wrists. When ECD says 1 flex, they mean it. 3. Price: $155 is also pretty stiff, but I think this is a pretty unique offering, and I do think that investing in Textreme materials really paid off in the strength-to-weight ratio (lots more tech specs in my video). Overall: IF you are a huge slasher I would still be a little hesitant, but I don’t think a regular Dragonfly would be any stronger; you’d have to look to something in the 160-170 gram weight before I’d be really comfortable. BUT if you’re going for a super high performance, crazy light shaft, I think this is the best currently available on the market. #lax #lacrosse #ecdlax #ecdnation

Alas, here is my much-delayed @ecdlax Hero 3.0 review. Full YouTube review at the link in my bio. 1. Much more even-feeling mesh than 2.0. I definitely thought I could feel the variance in elasticity across the mesh that came with Zone Tech, and I was not a fan. 3.0 ditches that, and it totally paid off. The hybrid weave creates a nice “dead” feeling mesh that one would expect from Innegra and is much more consistent across the length of the pocket. 2. The coating is definitely a big improvement. I never saw any issue with 2.0 bagging out in the rain, but it was a bit slippery to me on occasion, so the 3.0 texture was a welcomed addition. The grip felt great. 3. My first inclination was that this mesh would be a workhorse, but I’ve had multiple commenters on YouTube report that 3.0 has worn through on them fairly quickly. In my experience, all meshes can wear through depending on how they are strung, BUT if 3.0 is indeed a little less durable, my guess would be that it is the result of the increased texture of the pre-process LTH coating or the internal interaction between the LTH and Innegra. I doubt it’s the latter, as Innegra has a naturally low coefficient of friction and I haven’t seen too many memory mesh blow outs. 4. Subtle point, but I think ECD should keep the iconic striker colorway. The new patterns are fine, but whenever I saw striker I knew it was ECD, and that was pretty cool. @ecdlax DNA Diamond final thoughts (full review in the bio): 1. The clear plastic looks sweet. No two ways about it. 2. Strength is obviously the biggest concern, but both from what ECD is claiming and the little I’ve been able to dig up, I do believe this should perform similarly to a standard nylon head. While voids (the little bubbles you can see) are usually reason for concern, the sample I received had wayyy fewer than the marketing sample, so I don’t think that will be an issue. 3. The weight decrease is huge. My sample weighed in at 5.3 oz with the ballstop, putting it at a full ounce lighter than the regular DNA. If the DNA was too heavy for you as an offensive player before, you won’t have the same issue with the Diamond. CONCLUSION: if you are an offensive player who likes the DNA, you’re probably gonna want to snag this head, or if you like the Rebel Offense and want to spice up the look of your stick. If I’m a pole though, I’m gonna stay away and stick to the standard DNA. Any more questions? Who’s excited for this release??
