The Satellite SSD is getting ready for orbit! 🛰️🛠️ Here’s a quick sneak peak at the 1st official early design Prototype. A few of the things that is informing the design and build process of this new SSD is the desire from you all to have an extremely small form factor like a T7 (which you can see ours is even smaller than) and the ability to record video directly to the SSD through usb 3.2 It will also much like our current Space Shuttle SSD design be able to stack together seamlessly with any of the SSD’s in our ecosystem. Stay tuned for more info on the official specs and release date…🛰️ #TropicColour Comment below if you’re excited 💬👇🏼 #ssd #tech #filmmaking #photographer #productdesign

How to grow your business ⬇️📈 1️⃣ Re-invest back into your business. To really grow as a company or business you need to re-invest the majority of your earnings back into the business to help nurture its growth and maturity. The more you take from the business the more it will suffer and the harder it will be to build a long-standing successful business. Think and strive for the long term not just a quick buck. Even try foregoing paying yourself early on and put that money back into the business whether that’s marketing, inventory, R&D, or employees…which leads me to point #2 2️⃣ Hire People This was one of the most challenging things I had to realize when trying to operate and run our business’ early on. I thought I could do it all myself and that we didn’t have the money or revenue to hire people. But in order to really scale up your business & its revenue you’ll need to hire people to help you do just that. Take it from me as someone who who put this off for too long, as soon as we hired people to handle specific tasks, it allowed our business to really scale and free’d me up to focus on what I really love and am good at which is why we started the business in the 1st place. 3️⃣ Spend money on marketing you need to get in front of eye balls…and yes you can do that through organic social media content that reaches your target audience organically, but you also need to be spending money on marketing whether that’s paid ads via TikTok, IG, Facebook etc or paying social media influencers in your business’ niche to help you create content for your business that not only you can share, but they can share with their audience as well. You could have the coolest product in the world but if no one knows about it you won’t sell anything whether that’s a product or service. Whether you disagree with me or not, all these steps have helped me build and run 3 different and successful 7 figure companies for the last few years. Don’t do this as an Influencer 🚨 If you accept FREE product from a brand you NEED to share about it or their brand. This toxic influencer mindset that if you’re not getting paid you’re not “required” to share needs to stop. At the end of the day there’s real people behind these brands that are spending money, time, and resources to get you something you didn’t have to pay for that YOU accepted. Now I’m not saying you have to go all out and create all types of content for them, all of our time and skill sets are valuable and should be valued. But personally you should NEVER accept free product from a brand or person and feel that you’re not “obligated” to share about them or the product in some way. Be a good person and show love to those who show you love. Build trust and a relationship with that brand and you never know where that could take you down the road. Too many people let their egos and follower counts get in the way of seeing a bigger picture. 🚨I was NOT paid by this company in any way. This is not sponsored. I just felt motivated to share this idea/story through this product and moment. Do you agree or disagree? 💬👇🏼 Thank you to @vigilantaudio for the love and these amazing new speakers! Really hope to build with y’all in the future! 🙏🏻 #tech #influencer #filmmaker #desksetup #contentcreator

My Weekly Faves 📹📸👇🏼 1. @djiglobal MIC: This piece has been instrumental in all of my recent content creation. The phone adapter slips right into the bottom jack of my iphone and I can capture high quality audio baked directly into my phone videos without any extra steps. 2. Amazon Newest Phone Tripod : Another piece that has been instrumental in helping me create content fast and efficiently. As someone who runs multiple business’ while still actively working as a filmmaker & content creator I don’t always have the time to set up a big camera or lights to shoot social media content and this phone tripod allows me to get any shot anytime anywhere in a matter of seconds. This paired with the DJI Mic is a great combo. 3. @tropic.colour Space Shuttle SSD: As I’m sure many of you have seen, this new SSD is blazing fast and the performance is top tier out of any drive on the market. So whether I’ve been on set just dumping data or at home working off this drive it’s always around or near me on any given day helping me put in fast and efficient work so I can get to the next thing on my to do list. 4. @lexarmemory CFExpress Dual Reader: This new dual reader from Lexar is just another tool to help me speed up the workflow of dumping and transferring data. Anything I can use that can help me save time throughout my work day is a must, and with this dual reader I can quickly dump my RED Footage & BTS photos from set simultaneously. 5. @prismlensfx Cine Soft FX FIlter: This filter has not left the front of my matte box in recent memory. I feel like as cinematographers & photographers once we’ve found a look we like, we stick to it..and I’ve just found myself recently shooting every single project with the 1/4 strength cine soft fx filter in front of my lens/camera no matter the setup. If you want to see more videos like this highlighting products I’ve been using throughout my week comment below! It’s time to open up 💬📝👇🏼 I’ve recently been dealing with a lot, and while yes, I live a life I’m very proud and happy of and for...that doesn’t mean it isn’t without it’s challenges whether that be creatively, mentally, emotionally, or physically. I’ve always said “I Hate Writing” which I think I do to an extent, but I also think its always been a little bit of an excuse because it’s hard. It’s not easy to write, to sit and be still with your thoughts and put pen to paper. That being said I’ve always bottled stuff up, kept things to myself and never had a real outlet for my thoughts…whether that’s talking with someone or simply writing them down to reflect on myself. With pushing myself to do more creative writing on the computer recently for various social posts, or projects & ideas…it kind of sparked a small desire to journal some of these thoughts so they don’t evaporate into the ether. This idea of journaling was further sparked after I recently came across @inspiredtowrite’s work. Thoughts, no filter, just raw & real. I hope this new outlet will help you all just as much as I think it will help me. Much love! ❤️ #inspiredtowrite #journaling #inspire #motivate

Why you need to use this tool as a filmmaker!⬇️🛠️🎥 I just want to start off by saying this isn’t sponsored and I was not paid to make this. I just love their service and wanted to show love to them while giving the community some insight into this amazing service/product. ⬇️ @shotdeck is 1 of the most instrumental tools in my workflow as a filmmaker & cinematographer. Before Shot Deck I used to have to scrape the internet/youtube for clips and snippets of films and music videos that I could screenshot to try and pull a reference to my deck or treatment. It was a huge pain. As a Director it’s important to be able to communicate your vision with your client and crew...and the best way of doing that is through visual references. There’s literally not 1 treatment/deck I write anymore that doesn’t use Shot Deck for any sort of visual references. I highly recommend it 9/10. I just hope one day they start introducing music video stills/frames for people to pull references from, that would be the only way this app/service gets even better IMO. If you enjoyed this video and want me to make videos about other services or products I use in my professional work life lemme know in the comments below! #shotdeck #filmmaker #cinematography #cinematographer #videography

How to be intentional as a filmmaker ⬇️🎥 In a world where gimbals have flooded the indie & professional filmmaking market we’ve seen for far too long entire music videos or projects shot solely on a gimbal because young filmmakers believe this tool will help make their project more “cinematic” or “professional”... but if you look at some of the industry’s best when it comes to DP’s or Directors like David Fincher, Christopher Nolan, Wes Anderson, M Knight etc... You’ll notice 1 thing most all of their movies have in common... The camera rarely moves. and when it does move there is direct intention for why the camera is moving. Whether that’s a dolly push in on the character’s face as they’re just handed some terrible news, a pan tilt of the camera on sticks revealing something not originally seen in the frame that adds some new information to the scene or story, or the raw visceral handheld camera work of an intense moment of a war scene to make the audience feel the intensity and gravity of the situation on screen. Camera movement and framing all play a very important role when it comes to the art of filmmaking. I think more than ever with all the insane filmmaking gear, tech & tools at our ready disposal the art of filmmaking has been lost a little. We just throw a camera on a gimbal and fly it through space because it “looks cool” I say all this too say, on your next project work on being intentional with every frame and camera move. Let the camera movement better serve the story you’re trying to tell whether that’s a commercial, music video, or short film. Every director/DP has their favorite style of shooting in how they frame and move the camera. What’s your favorite style? Comment below! Let’s start a discussion. #Filmmaking #cinematography #cinematographer #videoproduction #videographer
