Repost from @earthlinged The new coronavirus pandemic would not have started if we didn’t farm and eat animals. In fact the CDC warns that 3 out of 4 new or emerging infectious diseases in people come from animals, meaning that our exploitation of non-human animals in turn kills us as well. The WHO, FAO and OIE have also previously stated that increased demand for animal protein is one of the main risk factors for a pandemic, something that we are now facing. Since #Covid19 started in China, there have been a lot of people blaming Chinese culture for the outbreak. However, in doing this we are ignoring the very reason why these zoonotic diseases start. These problems are not geographically specific, or demographically specific. For example, Ebola and HIV started in Africa, MERS started in Saudi Arabia, Nipah started in Malaysia, BSE started in the UK and Swine Flu started in Mexico and the US. These zoonotic diseases can be created in any country and the one thing they all have in common is that they started because of our exploitation of #animals. Covid-19 is just the latest in a long history of deadly diseases created because of what we do to animals and it will not be the last, and what awaits us in the future could potentially be even more deadly and destructive. If you’re stockpiling toilet roll, yet also buying bacon, then you’re part of the problem. How can we claim that eating animals is a personal choice when doing so not only kills trillions of non-human animals but in turn causes pandemics? If Covid-19 can teach us anything it must be that in the blink of an eye everything can change, and we must ensure that when it dissipates we do not go back to business as usual. As long as we exploit others these problems will continue. How many have to die? How many more viruses does there need to be? How many need to suffer? At what point does enough become enough? #coronavirus #vegan 🦠 http://apps.who.int/iris/bitstream/handle/10665/68899/WHO_CDS_CPE_ZFK_2004.9.pdf 🦠 https://www.who.int/docs/default-source/coronaviruse/who-china-joint-mission-on-covid-19-final-report.pdf

Jo-Anne @weanimals is one of my hero’s 💚 - Repost from @earthlinged Going vegan is the best decision I ever made. And upon going vegan, you soon realise that you truly don’t give anything up, not a single thing. There’s simply nothing to give up, because supporting animal suffering just isn’t an option anymore. The Disclosure Podcast with Jo-Anne McArthur of @weanimals can be found on YouTube, iTunes & Spotify. #vegan

Repost from @earthlinged It’s 2020. Time to progress. The excuses don’t hold up. It’s time to move away from animal exploitation. If you’re doing #veganuary it’s because you care, and because you know that using animals isn’t right. Please stick at it, remember why you started, and remember the animals. . . . . . #meatless #plantbased #nutrition #vegetarian #infusedtreats #vegan #whatveganseat #nature #vegancommunity #vegandinner #magicbutter #healthy #infusededibles #vegansnack #lasuissevitale #superbowl2020 #veganinspiration #vegansofig #foodporn #foodblogger #glutenfree #ftlaapparel #instadaily #stoner #veganfortheplanet #kuchen #veganlove #veganlifestyle #healthyfood
