Honestly, I’m not a fan of salami as my impression of salami is heavy on saltiness. However, this super thin salami changed my mind! Full of Luck is a restaurant situated conveniently beside Holland Village MRT station and is a casual dining concept serving classic Cantonese cuisine. It is a perfect place for gatherings over hearty and delicious food. . Our favourite has to be this – pork ribs fried till crisp and coated with caramelised marmite sauce. Taiwan’s famous fried chicken brand Monga has opened its first ever outlet at Jurong East Mall, with Taiwanese celebrity Nono himself introducing the brand. . Using only fresh and not frozen chicken for their offerings, each extra thick chicken fillets are prepared exactly the same way in Taiwan using its trusted recipe. . Within the crust-like crunch, each slab of 2cm thick chicken breasts was well marinated, tender and juicy, served piping hot with 3 different flavors – The King which the original salt and pepper, Hot Chick which is chilli paprika powder hand-made from Anaheim peppers and The Taiker, which Japanese sauce and seaweed powder imported from Okinawa. . For this last quarter of the year, Kumoya will be joining in the fun with Sesame Street to celebrate its 50th anniversary! Get ready to experience childhood once again as you step into the brightly lit cafe, decorated with vibrant colours of Sesame Street characters such as Elmo, Cookie Monster, Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch! It was definitely a bonus to have L sized character plushies seated beside you as you dine! . For the mains, I had one which shouts ‘KAWAII’ the most! It was the ABCD and E for Elmo Japanese seafood curry rice. What a lengthy name… The Elmo face is made up of fluffy tomato infused rice, served with Japanese curry and accompanied by breaded ebi, breaded calamari and tempura salmon. . . Another catchy looking dish would be the ‘Oscar’s teriyaki chicken katsu burger is the one!’ with its chicken katsu dipped in teriyaki sauce and green matcha mantou, fresh garden salad within the bin itself. Set within a beautifully designed Southwest Chinese-inspired space, this Chinese hotpot restaurant in the heart of Bedok (located between Bedok Mall and Bedok Food Interchange) offers delicious dishes made with high-quality and fresh ingredients. The outlandish red lanterns might seem a little out of place in the heartlands, but the opulent décor and gorgeous paintings are sure to draw the attention of passers-by. . We tried 3 different types of soup bases, contained in their 3-flavour pot (奔驰锅). Hailing from Chengdu, Sichuan, where the people there are renowned for having high tolerance to spicy food, the signature soup is definitely the Traditional Spicy Soup (牛油红锅). This bubbling cauldron of fiery-hot soup is extremely comforting, especially on a rainy day or when the craving for something spicy strikes. After trying @adibeecookies for years, the bite size ‘poop’ cookies in assorted flavours is like a dream comes true! 🍪 You can try the classic flavours all in one box - butter, matcha, coffee. Best paired with a cuppa coffee ☕️ I like it that the cookies are airy, buttery and delicate that almost melts in the mouth - no chewing required! 😋 . 📸 @shitty_vince
Start off the Saturday on a hearty note with homecook yong tau foo and fortune tofu. Savour with a peace of mind as all fortune tofu variants are made using premium-grade 100% Non-GMO Canadian soya beans, contains no preservatives, no cholesterol and no trans fats. My pick would be egg tofu with omega 3. It’s silky smooth yet with a firm texture and comes with a nice eggy taste.
Being an Uni fan, I’m excited to try Seizan Uni Ramen, the new collaboration with two Michelin-starred Seizan from Tokyo. Something different from the usual ramen as the dashi base stock is made from premium ingredients like mount fuji water, bonito flakes, kombu and more. Premium Japanese Bafun Uni, cream and milk is added to the dashi stock and prepared upon order. The noodles are slightly curly to hold the creamy and luxurious uni broth. Bite through shatteringly thin crisp layer of panko breadcrumbs and oozing with pork loin juice and flavour on the inside. Every set comes with a bowl of rice, miso soup and pickles. It’s breaded upon order so do expect a longer waiting time. Glad that I’ve found this gem filled with the locals.
All time favourite stir fried yam from PUTIEN. Soft and sweet yam with a nice caramelised crispy coating on the outside.
For crab-lovers, the wok-fried Sri-Lankan crab with homemade pumpkin sauce is a unique take and reminiscent of salted egg yolk sauce. In preparation of the pumpkin sauce, the pumpkin is steamed then cooked in a mixture of milk, pepper and curry leaf resulting in a fragrant gravy that the fried mantous would be handy to mop up. 🦀 . . I hope all of you had a great weekend 🥳 Can’t believe tomorrow is the start of another long work week! The things I did for relaxation were, having a nice meal with my family and friends, a good yoga stretch and dressed my nails beautifully with zero drying time. Simply peel it off and sticks on your nails. Fuss free and done within 15 minutes for all 10 nails. I’ve also trimmed the excess using a nail file ( provided in the packaging).
