Here’s the reason of our unique solution. 🔻 In case of a crash, supporting the slide is the most effective way to prevent further injury since it’s a gentle way of dissipating the energy resulting from a fall. Sliding is the opposite of rolling, the worst of the events that can commonly occur during a fall, which is, in many cases, caused by a material that does not adequately slide against the asphalt, creating friction and catching on the surface. For example, plastic is unable to withstand high-speed rubbing against the asphalt without deteriorating, because the high temperatures generated cause a plastic protector to melt. Therefore, plastic is not the best material to use on the outside of garments. The solution to the problem lies in the strategic use of materials that don’t deteriorate with the high temperatures produced by friction against the asphalt. That’s why we came up with metal plates on the most exposed areas. Aluminium and titanium can withstand heat and have superior abrasion resistance properties, they are therefore more than able to support and encourage sliding. My partner and I had already visited Austria and Southern Germany -- the Black Forest, in particular -- by motorcycle. The goal of this new trip was to go further and reach the North Sea, visiting the northern coasts of Denmark and The Netherlands looking for our beloved lighthouses and windmills, traditional Danish and Dutch buildings.  We started from Padua, with an itinerary of about 5000 km to reach the maximum latitude of North Jutland.We chose two cities as our reference points, Kolding in Denmark, and Groningen in The Netherlands.Using these as our base camps, we could enjoy days riding our motorcycles free of the weight of luggage.  The first stop in the hunt for lighthouses and windmills was on the fourth day since our departure. We got going with a bang, as they say, visiting Rujerg Knude Lighthouse in Denmark. It’s a magical place, with an indescribable charm – high sand dunes, the cliff, the lighthouse rising majestically on the horizon – pure emotion.  From the pictoresque Danish shore to a capital city, Copenaghen welcomed us its most characteristic sights,starting with the famous Little Mermaid, a must see, but not particularly exciting.  The spectacular 360° view of the city that can be enjoyed from the Rundetårn tower is not to be missed, the same with Rosenborg Castle, an interesting location which houses the Danish Crown Jewels.  Read more on our journal Explorer  #dainese #dainesexplorer
