I used to be good at typing out my thoughts and emotions. I would be lying if I said I still knew how to. What I can say is, without a bone marrow transplant I wouldn’t be here to share my story today - and that’s the honest truth. I’ve had a lot of people over the last few years later find out that I had cancer after they’ve known me. They’ll say they had no idea or that I never talk about it. I think a big reason for that is because I feel like I’m living a different life. A new life. I wish there was a better way of explaining it but I guess the best way I can put it is that I’m a new person. I’ve changed my outlook on life, on people, even on what career choice I want. I’ve faced death, fear, and uncertainty. I still face uncertainty day to day not knowing if my cancer will return for a third time. My best advice is, if you want to be happy- focus on living fully in the present and whatever you want to do, do it now- there are only so many tomorrows.
