Hey Instagram! How are ya? I just finished Training with our top leaders at Torrid and let me tell you. From the inside out there is so much love, engagement, and education behind the scenes at Torrid! I won't share too much but I got to hear first hand what drives some of these people every day and it truly made me realize that I'm working in the right place. I can't change the world but I can make everyone I meets day a little brighter and more fun! Thank you so much to every single partner and other people I met this week. Sometimes I think my favorite thing to do after a long day is sit down, and open Instagram. I love to scroll through and just be nice. If I like something I'll say it. I take a few minutes every day to just share, "hey I really think you're doing amazing things!" The reason I do that is because sometimes telling people could be just what they need. A little kindness and two seconds of dealing with the comment anxiety could mean the world to them, ya know? Sometimes people just need to hear, hey. I see your efforts and I'm so proud of you. I see the hard work and if no one else says it out loud. I📣am📣proud📣of📣you👏 Things are gonna be okay. And even better than just that.

Self care also means taking care of those curls!! Growing up no one ever taught me where I came from, so I had no idea how to take care of curly hair! I knew you could braid it to style but it was always so dry! I've finally got luscious locks now, but I still need style suggestions!! What's your favorite style/curly girl routine??

Today I saw a beautiful woman (@lvernon2000 ) talking about embracing the things you hate. So here's my story. . I've always been the chubby kid growing up. Crying in the fitting rooms was my regular. I was made fun of growing up because none of my clothes fit. My mom was terminal so we had to shop Walmart and thrift stores. Plus size wasn't a thing growing up. So shopping was my biggest insecurity. When I was 7 I wanted a belly button piercing, we said if I lost a little more weight I can get it when I'm older. That weight was my mom pouch. The one I still have today. I know it was innocent but it was the thought of everyone at the time. People see me now at my smaller size and assume "she can't be plus size, you don't know how it is!" The thing is I do, I am. I've lived this life for years. Torrid taught me to love myself. It gave me a place that didn't care how big I was. They cared about WHO I was inside. They taught me that no matter what size you are you can dress it up, dress it down. Just because I'm bigger doesn't mean I'm not beautiful. What a lot of people don't see is a girl who escaped a horrible abusive situation, and the struggle I had to go through to grow. When I say I spend all day, every day making people feel beautiful. I mean it. I'm the above and beyond girl. I never stop going. I loved myself as a curvier girl and slowly I'm learning to love myself as a smaller curve. Sometimes it's hard to look at yourself and go. I looked so much more beautiful like that. But that's the thing. I have to take a page from my own book and tell myself. Beauty at every size. Just because I'm smaller doesn't mean anything. Size is just a number and that can never take away my ability to understand how it feels. I just wanted to say it's okay to feel unsure about yourself. But as long as you put effort to try is half the battle. I'm scared to say it because I know I'm on the smaller side but. I just wanted to say this in case it made anyone feel a little less alone
