Many of you who see this post have done jiu-jitsu at some point in your life and are not currently training. But, most likely, you're aware of the seven reasons, the benefits of training jiu-jitsu and agree with it. There is a reason why you hear the term "Jiu-Jitsu Journey"; it's a journey with highs and lows. Balancing Personal & Professional responsibilities and still having time to practice a hobby can be challenging. Along this Journey, many struggles can happen. For example, financial struggles, personal relationship issues, fears, anxieties, and often plan out busy with your priorities. Also, an unexpected health issue or an injury can keep you away from the mats. I have a message for all the practitioners battling any unexpected disease like cancer and cannot be as active as you would like. I can not even imagine the internal mental battle you and your family are going through; however, if you're very passionate about jiu-jitsu, you can continue your jiu-jitsu Journey: Reading books about jiu-jitsu, watching documentaries, following the competition scene, or consuming youtube content and having this passion part of your life. Finally, and most importantly, just like jiu-jitsu competition matches, keep fighting no matter what. Now, if you're watching this video and thinking: "I wish I could train again..." and you believe that it is possible to rearrange some of your priorities to include jiu-jitsu back in your life, this message is for you. The message is GO BACK TO THE MATS as soon as you have the opportunity! Don't tell me: "I'm going to the gym or start running to get in shape before...blah blah blah". It doesn't work. Reconnect with old teammates, commit to at least two classes per week and sign up. Be grateful for your health and the opportunity to practice a hobby that you enjoy. She went 1-1 but winning was never the goal. The goal was to simply get out of her comfort zone and she did that. She some how she manages be a full time mom while working over night shifts at the hospital and still trains 5-6 times a week! Win or lose Nothing changes, we’ll be back on the mats Monday.
