The Hackability of the Stool has taken over the Dome at the Vitra Campus until June 18th. If you are looking for a weekend activity around Weil am Rhein, it's worth a visit. ⁠ ⁠ Daisuke Motogi, founder of Japanese studio DDAA LAB, has explored different functions applied to the Stool 60, in 100 variations. This year the Paimio Sanatorium celebrates 90 years since its opening. To support the @paimiosanatorium Foundation on its mission and to celebrate this important milestone, we released the Paimio Sanatorium Anniversary Collection. ⁠ ⁠ The collection includes Armchair 41 (or Paimio Armchair) with a seat and frame in oiled natural birch and three special colours of Stool 60 in forest green, sky blue and sun yellow. An outpost of "Decades" is now on display at our store in Tokyo ⁠ ⁠ As part of our 90 years of Stool 60 celebrations, @artek2ndcycle presents the exhibition Decades, which pays tribute to the three-legged stool designed by Alvar Aalto in 1933. The exhibtion (ongoing until September) represent a cross-section of the design icon throughout the decades. ⁠ ⁠ An outpost of the exhibtion including a selected number of Stool 60 from various decades is now shown in our store in Japan, and will tour around afterwards.⁠ ⁠ You can catch it at Artek Tokyo until June 19th. Walking through Alvar and Aino Aalto’s Paimio Sanitorium, one encounters glowing colours at every turn. Set amidst pine forests outside the small town of Paimio in southwest Finland this modernist icon, which opened in 1933, was conceived as a ‘medical instrument’ dedicated to the care of tuberculosis patients. ⁠ ⁠ To mark the 90th anniversary of Paimio Sanatorium, the interior colour schemes of the Artek Helsinki shop were influenced by those used in the Sanatorium.
