Dachshunds and Friends Rescue has been blessed with the most amazing followers and supporters. Many have shared with us that they want to help, but it can sometimes be hard to know what or how much to give. Sometimes we worry that our donation isn't enough or that it couldn’t possibly make a difference. But EVERY dollar truly does count towards keeping DAFR going and allowing us to continue to rescue and save deserving animals. 
This is why we decided to create our $5 Friday Campaign. Every other Friday, DAFR will be asking for a small $5 donation from our followers to support our life-saving work.   We created this campaign because we know people want to help, but we also understand that money is tight. I met four month old Tigger last night. He is soooooo cute and sweet with lots of puppy energy. Tigger's foster mom Carla got a pregnant foster doggie who gave birth last night to three pups. So we needed to find Tigger a new foster home. Thankfully Shirley and Emily in Buena Park said yes. Tigger didn't understand why he couldn't be in the birthing room. 😁 Tigger is a Min Pin Mix (See his DNA in the photos.) We are so happy to announce that Piglet of the 100 Acre Woods Crew has been adopted. Piglet has been adopted by a wonderful family who happens to be one of our Facebook followers. We truly love it when our followers adopt from us. Foster mom is a bit sad as he was her favorite but she is happy for Piglet. Also included is a picture of Piglet with his new brother Henry. Happy tails Piglet.

Adopt Tigger. Tigger is 4 months old and loves the water. Today he went to his first obedience class @zoomroomhuntington and did excellent. He is going to be a great addition to your family. He is currently being fostered with his sister Kanga who is also available for adoption. They are currently in Huntington Beach, CA.

Skip was near death. Not because he was sick or old. He was at high risk to be euthanized at the OC Shelter. Unfortunately, Skip was uncooperative at intake and would try to bite when examined or when picked up. So he was listed as rescue only. He was a Volunteer favorite in the play yard. He was friendly with the other dogs. The volunteers rallied to find a rescue to save him. Dachshunds and Friends Rescue was able to secure a reliable foster. Thank you Tracy! We can't help doggies without fosters. Skip is doing great in his temporary foster home. He gets along really well with the other doggies in the house. He's very friendly with the humans too. He will be going to Tracy's tomorrow in South Orange Counry. Once Skip has time to decompress and work on his sensitivity to being picked up, he will be available for adoption. Skip is about 1&1/2 years old and weighs 18 pounds. He was listed as a Dachshund/Min Pin Mix. He has a beautiful chocolate coat. * Photos 8, 9 & 10 are feom his freedom ride and exiting the shelter where he spent two months. More about Beans from his foster parents: Beans loves to snuggle and hang out on the couch, but also likes to play with toys and play fetch. Enjoys playing with his foster sisters but was an only dog before and would be fine with being an only dog again as long as his people are around more often than not. He mostly sleeps during the day when the humans do leave. He puts himself to bed at night in his dog bed and sleeps there through the night. He would love to sleep in the big bed but his foster parents didn’t want to get him in that habit in case his forever parents would prefer he continue to sleep in his dog bed. Loves to eat and loves treats. Just a total sweetheart and lovebug. He needs eye drops 3 times per week and eye ointment twice a day every day. He is very cooperative and it is super easy to give him his drops and ointment. It takes less than 30 seconds.
