Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Terrica Latrice @terricalatrice

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

As a native of Mississippi, I understand the concept of hard work. I do not expect anything to be handed to me. Therefore, I am focused on growing – in all aspects. Currently, I am working on my second book, creating a new website, focused on building brands, and implementing new programs into my mentorship. I firmly believe in purpose, so I am adamant about walking in it daily.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My Instagram posts mainly center on inspiration. I try to make everything personable, and add some encouragement somewhere in there. I never want to do things out of vanity. I believe that if I’m going to deliver something to the world, even as small as a post or picture, it should be able to give someone a glimpse of hope or motivation.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name is simply my first and middle name. I’ve been using it since 2009 online. The only other person I’m familiar with using their first and middle name at that time was Alesha Renee, the TV personality.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I’ve actually toyed around with a few, but the ones that I currently use are FotoRus and Square Video. I use FotoRus to edit any lightning issues and to add filters, whenever I use those. I also use it to crop my photos into multiple angles. Square Video is typically used when I want to upload a video or whenever I choose to create a perfectly squared image to upload.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I am an admirer of many Instagram users, but I love Karen Civil, Mattie James, etc. These are women who are authentically themselves online. They are relatable, but also inspiring. They have built their brands and created their own platforms, and that is admirable.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

This is totally unrelated, but a necessity for the women. Eyebrow threading and tinting is a must try. I’ve always shyed away from the two, but I have a newly found love for the two. For Instagrammers in general, I think everyone should go live on Instagram at least once. It is a great way to connect with your target audience, and it allows you to speak on a topic that you have expertise. Also, they have a new feature that allows you to save your live videos afterwards, which is amazing if you would like to upload them elsewhere.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part of being an influencer is having the ability to make someone’s day better. It is simply holding the power to make someone laugh, smile, or even turn their bad day into a great one.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

When running campaigns, it is wise to always add a human element to your strategy. Make them feel as if they know you, even if that means to organize an in person event. Engage with your participants. Connect with them.

Always be yourself. People need something to connect to, not a logo or a color scheme. They need a person who are authentic. There’s no other way to be that way other than consistently being yourself.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Without quality and original content, you sick. It is imperative to create your own content and deliver it in an exceptional way because there are always people that are doing the same as you. You must stand out and you must solidify yourself in whatever avenue you choose to take.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Partnering with brands allows both parties to be introduced to a new audience. It creates a way for others to interact with people that they would not have otherwise known. In a nutshell, it is a fun opportunity to grow your brand and connect with others who share the same values and mission as you.
