Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Stuart Danford @King_stu

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a from Spokane, Washington, but I’m going to be attending the University of Washington in the fall to study Architecture. Photography is my passion, and exploring, and making the most out of every day is what I love to do! Instagram is the place where all my adventures can hopefully influence others to do the same.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I post photos that I take with my DSLR. Anything from nature, to urban, to portrait, to landscape, you name it and I’ve probably shot it! My Instagram photos reflect the adventures I go on during any given week!

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

LeBron James was one of the first people I followed when I got Instagram. So King James turned to King Stu and it kinda stuck! And now I play the card that I’m the King of Photography in Spokane(;

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use Lightroom on all my photos. I have a few presets that I made, so I apply those to most of my photos. But other than that, I don’t do a whole lot of complicated stuff!

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Berty Mandagie or @Bertymandagie is a guy that first inspired my to really get into photography and start posting consistently on my account because he lives in Seattle and visits Spokane occasionally. Thomas Berger or @oneeyephotography is another inspiring guy because he commented on my earlier work and was always responsive to any questions I had.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Hop in a car, or a friend’s car, or a bus, or a bike, or heck just go and walk around! Because there’s always a new place to explore. No matter where you live, who you know, or what you do, there’s an adventure out there waiting for YOU.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Being able to share positivity and inspire people to be creative! I also meeting people through photography because I can learn from them and hopefully they can take something from me too.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Document your brand by inserting it into the daily lives of the user. If you document your brand being used in the way that it is intended to be used, in a real world setting, chances are that people will recognize that authenticity.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Live outside the box. If you’re easily capturing content, chances are that someone else could reproduce it just as easily. Get out there, shoot a lot, learn how to use the equipment available to you, try new things, go new places, and strive to experience life from new perspectives.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Free stuff is always cool! Plus it serves as a good way to get your name out there as an artist and a creator. Plus, building partnerships and connections is a useful tool not just in social media or photography, but in life.
