Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Saskia @the_profashional

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hi, I am Saskia and probably have the most complicated name to pronounce anywhere except Germany 😉 So please feel free to call me Jessica, Siska or else, there’s nothing I haven’t heard yet!
I am based in the beautiful city Dubai and I am originally from Berlin. I love adventures, traveling and beautiful things.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Number one on my list of interest is fashion. I love to change my style and I never go with any trend. Mostly I wear black, it’s my trademark.
Secondly, I love architecture. Although I am not a professional, I am sometimes lucky to get the perfect shot which I share with my followers.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It is actually a wordplay which came to my mind while I was working in the marketing agency where I created slogans for several companies.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use VSCO, Snapseed and Afterlight. Mostly I like to increase whites and the contrast to make the colors pop out.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

My favorite is Amanda from Oracle Fox! She’s always dressed amazingly and also a creative head! She made me appreciate minimalism even more.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

The story option. First, I was hesitant but I get so much lovely feedback that I am more approachable and more human than I appear in my pictures. That’s really nice to hear. Also, this is one way to show people that I am actually way more funny than the mostly serious posts I share with them.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

The interaction with people and that it’s so easy to find like minded people with the same interests!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Before sending any products to influencers, brands should make sure to ask them what they’d actually like to get. Sometimes tastes vary a lot and you may end up without getting any feedback because the product is just lying around, next to their other 20 sponsored items. My audience likes me because they can be sure that I am only giving my honest opinion and will never change it just because a post is paid. If your product is amazing and I am convinced, I will make sure everyone knows!

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I have never been a fan of copying anyones content but rather adding your own personal touch. If you see a post you really like, think how you would implement a similar idea and give it a personal note. People who have a similar fellowship will notice immediately and it will just end up awkward for everyone. We all remember the blogger who copied ALL of the posts of Gypsealust, with the same outfits, same locations, same accessories etc. She ended up getting mentioned in posts of bloggers worldwide but in a negative way. So stay as you are and be true to yourself!

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

The best part is to get to try new products before anyone else and to have an actual influence on people, once they have seen your review.
