Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Max Trofimov @Visual_island

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Max and I am a visual content creator on Instagram. I specialize in filmmaking, editing and photography areas and have a multiple year’s of experiences behind me. I’m originally from Latvia but I moved to Guernsey in Channel Islands when I was 10 and lived there ever since. Living on a small island has influenced me to go out and explore places not many people would. This is where my passion to capture these types of moment derived from.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My main topic or genre is based on a travel and exploration lifestyle.
I frequently post either my daily exploration pictures or videos or one’s from past trips. I feel that having genuine authentic content is what connects with the audience.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It did take me a while to come up with the Visual_Island name but when it finally came to thought I felt it explained what I’m trying to show and and share aswell as being a memorable name. “Visual” repsententing the content that I’m visually sharing either via images or video and to try and tell a story and “Island” to describe for one the place where I live, to show off my island but also to have the authentic travel related name which can be easily identified.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Well apps wise my main go to editing applications are either Snapseed or Vsco.
But on Mac my preferred choice is Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop as well as Adobe premiere pro and after effects and Final cut pro for video and filmmaking.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

My 3 main instagrammers which have inspired me the most and developed me into a better content creator are Sam Kolder, Taylor Cut Films and Peter McKinnon. Without the content that these amazing guys put out there I doubt I would have got to where I am today.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Depends on what were talking about but my personal choice if anything is ” do a skydive” but for Instagram wise I would say just stay true to your content and how it influences others and just keep shooting and filming and don’t ever give up.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I absolutely love sharing my creations with everyone and hope that my passion for my work can inspire others one day but also as previously mentioned, staying true to the content you put out, to try make it connect with others as much as possible.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Staying focused on your target audience I think is the main key. Trying to engage with them in the easiest and best way possible and keeping the customer relation standards at a high, do that and and they will all come.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Creating high quality work is of importance in my opinion, it shows your dedication To what you’re trying to accomplish, and creating something which people will enjoy from scratch is one of the best parts of It. Also trying to be unique with your creations is a main aspect so brainstorm those ideas and come up with some crazy ideas that might create something Unique.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Personally I haven’t yet worked with any brands but I’ve got and idea or two of what i’d think would be the best about it.

One, working with a brand to create something the audience or customers desire, want and need aswell as to keep them happy.
Two, I think it would give a completely different perspective on how to actively market not only myself but the brand or product and explore that area of it.
