Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Jason @distinguishd_jason

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Im Jason, I am a designer and photographer (@asvpyeezus), and I guess you could say a pretty all around creative guy. Im from the Bay Area, near San Francisco. I spend most of my time growing my business, and other businesses as well, and get to spend a lot of time with very influential people from celebs to tech celebs, and other talented people.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest are business, fashion, and photography. It’s my day to day life, and i literally enjoy it. I used to run a streetwear store but it wasn’t my company, so since I’ve started all of my own stuff, I’ve never been more happy. It also gives me the freedom to influence and work with other companies thriving as well.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Distinguish’d Jason came about because the company i run is called Distinguish’d Minds (@Distinguishd_minds). It has a lot to do with just wanted to set myself apart and be unique in how i carry myself, which comes natural, but yeah, that’s what "Distinguish’d" means; being unique and authoritative.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I mostly edit on VSCO (send me ad rev. for the shoutout thanks haha) but yeah its my favorite app it is very moody in the tones it has which it makes it very easy for me when I’m on the go and need to edit photos.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Yeah there are a few. I really am inspired by @kith which is curated and created by @Ronniefieg. He really just carried the brand very well, and the content is very good as well. I’m Also inspired by @kalani_nicole, she has a company as well doing youth coordination (@Vaulting_ambition), and her drive and work ethic in and out of the communities is inspiring.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I think they should try to shoot with and try shopping on my site (which is in my bio, how cliche i know. haha) but other than that… i think if you ever are in the bay area, you should try CREAM, its the original place that does the cookie ice cream sandwiches and they are amazing. mmmmm lol

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite thing is literally being able to effect people in a positive way, and teach people about new things and showing good taste. My parents always say you can buy expensive things, but you can’t by good taste, that has stuck with me forever! I like to not only show people where to by, but also how it should look, and or best results of a product.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

If its running a campaign with me, i say make sure I fit your audience, and then trust me, I suppose as with any other influencer. I understand form both sides, but trust when i tell you it’s not always about the biggest following base, some people are more influential over their 3k followers than others with 100k.

With authenticity, I do my best at all times to be realistic, and honest. If i cannot find value, I won’t do the deal with another company; however, I often do, I do my research, and am pretty knowledgeable about things.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

It’s Everything (drops mic and walks away)
Just remember no remembers the person who comes in second place.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I like the ability to give my audiences great stuff to enjoy while also helping the brand tell compelling stories through photo, video, and written.
