Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Charlotte Angeles @thecharlotteangeles

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Charlotte Angeles (like the city). I’m an LA native, former Costa Rica resident, miniature pinscher mama, and a yellow belt in Krav Maga. I also love to travel, documenting and sharing the places I go with friends and followers. I am a graphic designer, and dental hygienist, passionate about both art and healthcare.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest that I primarily post about on Instagram are travel and fashion. I love posting a new favorite article of clothing with hopes to inspire others. I also love traveling; I feel that my best pictures come from a more relaxed and creative state of mind that I’m in when I’m exploring another city or country.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I’ve gone through a couple different Instagram names over the last few years, and finally decided on using my legal name. My married last name is Angeles and I was born and raised in Los Angeles, so there is a nice coincidence there. I had to add “the” because there are other Charlotte’s in this city who thought “charlotte angeles” had a nice ring to it and had already taken the username. As frustrating as it was to not get the exact username I wanted, it’s also flattering that others like the way my name sounds 🙂

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Sometimes I will edit my photos on my laptop with Photoshop and then transfer them back to my phone. I have a little more control when I can use my computer for it. When I use the apps on my phone, I mostly use Camera+ or Snapseed. I play around with brightness, shadows and contrast to get the best lighting in my photos.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I’ve been following “somethingnavy” on Instagram for a few years now because I absolutely love her. She is a fashion blogger from NYC who is an expert at putting together a chic outfit and inspires me to enhance my personal style. On a completely different note, I also follow Dwayne Johnson’s account. Not only is he a comedian, but he inspires people to get moving and stay healthy, and also does a lot of charity work.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Right now I am really into acupuncture. After each session I feel brand new – the stressors from the week are gone and my body feels reconnected. I am really lucky in that my acupuncturist has also become a confident of sorts, she is always there for me when I need someone to talk to.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I enjoy sharing products that I like with my followers, and introducing them to products that they may have otherwise not heard about.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think the main key to authenticity is to truly believe in the product. If a brand believes in their product, then an influencer can believe in the product and inspire followers and so on. When running a campaign, it is important to find ways to make a product relevant and show how it can improve people’s lives. It’s also important to show how the product fits into daily life.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Find a way to share a product or experience with others in a way that is meaningful to yourself. There is nothing I love more than exploring a place I either have or haven’t been to before and sharing with my followers all the little details and activities. I also enjoy searching for creative ways to share a travel adventure or share a new article of clothing.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I like exposing followers to brands that they may have otherwise not been exposed to and finding creative ways to do so.
