1)Tell us a little about this photo?
Before you read this, let me ask you a question: Are you living or just existing?
How can you say that you truly live your life? By the numbers of your bank accounts? By the assets that you garnered through years of hard work? Or is it measureable, with the amount of experiences that you faced and conquered?
One morning, before I go to work, I asked myself “Am I living to earn and die or existing to earn and die?” I just realized that my clock is ticking and I haven’t lived my life enough, not even touching the horizon of it.
That is why I joined Starngage, to share you my stories; my journey to self-discovery.
I hope that by sharing ones experiences through travel and photography, we could answer the existential question “Am I living or just existing?”
First on my story is the challenge of West Philippine sea’s raging waves. I wrote a short poem of my experience
It was a calling,
A calling from the sea.
The Waves were mad and raging
Yet, they’re inviting.
Who am I to decline?
I am just a nomad who lived by,
Taking risk and not let things passed-by
The principle of ‘Do, even you might Die’
It was a war
A war against my body and mind,
Surf or die!
That is my only battlecry.
The furious waves tortured my flesh
But not my undying spirit.
I am the who will conquer and reign
My bruises will never be a vain.
Alas! my time has come
I managed to ride in this raging sea
All my doubts are gone,
The waves washes off my fears.
