Recipe @fivesechealth Who likes Caesar salad? 👋🏼 I have re-created a Vegan Caesar salad wrapped up in a tortilla! I promise you, this is SO GOOD 🤤 Smokey tempe meets crispy fresh salad topped of with a Caesar dressing made with seeds 👌🏼 Smokey Tempe for 2: 150g tempe (not flavored) 4 tbsp Tamari or soy sauce 1 tbsp maple syrup 1/2 tsp liquid smoke extract Caesar Dressing for 2: 1/4 cup raw sunflower seeds (boil for 5 min) 1/2 cup water 1 tbsp lemon juice 1/2 tsp Dijon Mustard 1/2 tsp maple syrup 1/2 tsp capers (swedish: kapris) 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp sea salt 1. Preheat the oven to 180C/360F 2. In a container, combine the tamari (or soy) sauce, maple syrup and liquid smoke 3. Cut the tempe into slices and place them in the container, seal with a lid and give it a shake. Let marinade while you prepare the dressing 4. Quick soak the sunflower seeds by boiling them for 5 minutes 5. Now add all the dressing ingredients to a smaller high speed blender (at least 900W to get it creamy) blend until very creamy and smooth, store in a sealable jar in the fridge 6. Place the marinated tempe on an oven tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15 minutes, flip and then for 10 more minutes 7. When the tempe is done, place a big tortilla bread on a plate, add a little bit of dressing then lettuce & tomatoes, the tempe slices and lastly more dressing . MAKE @SOVEGAN’S SPEEDY FLATBREAD PESTO PIZZA 🍕. Recipe below ⬇️ No knead. No yeast. These flatbread pizzas are speedy and scrumptious. We top with shop-bought vegan pesto, cherry toms, olives and homemade cashew cheese. But practically anything will work! INGREDIENTS 🌿 250g / 8.8oz plain flour 🌿 1.5 tsp baking powder 🌿 1/2 tsp salt 🌿 1.5 tbsp olive oil 🌿 120ml / 4 fl.oz cold water Toppings: 🌿 cherry tomatoes, sliced 🌿 pitted olives, sliced 🌿 vegan pesto (we use sun-🌿 dried tomato pesto) 🌿 salad leaves (we use lamb’s lettuce) 🌿 chilli flakes For the cashew cheese: 🌿3/4 cup cashews 🌿 5 tbsp soy milk 🌿 1 tbsp nutritional yeast 🌿 1/2 lemon 🌿 pinch of salt METHOD 1️⃣ If making the cashew cheese, transfer cashews to a bowl, cover with hot water and leave to one side. 2️⃣ Preheat oven to 180°C/360F fan and line 2 trays with baking paper. 3️⃣ Add flour, baking powder and salt to a bowl and stir. Next add olive oil and water, and bring together until a dough forms. Tip dough onto a work surface and fold a few times to bring it together. Divide dough into 4 and roll each quarter into a circle approximately 1/2 cm thick. 4️⃣ Spread a heaped teaspoon of pesto onto each circle of dough, leaving a 1cm clear around the edges. Sprinkle over a small pinch of salt, then add cherry tomatoes and olives. Sprinkle over some chilli flakes, drizzle with a light splash of olive oil (optional), then bake for 15-20 minutes. 5️⃣ Meanwhile drain the cashews and add them to a high speed blender along with the soya milk, nutritional yeast, juice of the 1/2 lemon and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth. 6️⃣ Remove pizzas from the oven and top with spoonfuls of the cashew cheese, then sprinkle with salad leaves. Delicious! METHOD Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. On a baking sheet with parchment, add your bell peppers whole and mix with olive oil. Roast for 1 hour. Remove and place in a heat safe container and cover with a towel to steam and let cool for 30-45 minutes. After that when cooled, peel the skin and seeds of the bell pepper and thinly slice into “sashimi” like pieces.⁠ ⁠ In a bowl mix your bell peppers with mirin, soy sauce, sesame seeds, sesame oil and almond milk. Vegan gyros 😋 Tag a friend who’d love this! ❤️⠀ Follow 👉@playitisvegan⠀ Recipe Down Below 👇⠀ ⠀ JACKFRUIT PORK (for best flavour, make a day ahead)⠀ 4 tbsp olive oil⠀ 1 medium red onion, finely diced⠀ 4 cloves garlic, finely diced⠀ 1/8 tsp ground cloves⠀ ¼ tsp ground cinnamon⠀ ½ tsp ground cumin⠀ 2 tsp dry oregano, plus more for fries⠀ ½ tsp chilli power, adjust to taste⠀ 2 tbsp tomato paste⠀ 2 tins of young (green) jackfruit in water⠀ 4 tbsp soy sauce⠀ 2 tbsp maple syrup⠀ ¼ tsp white pepper (black is okay too)⠀ 2 tsp apple cider vinegar⠀ REMAINING INGREDIENTS⠀ 1 small cucumber, sliced⠀ a handful of sweet cherry tomatoes, quartered⠀ vegan tzatziki (recipe here)⠀ 6 large Greek pitas (gluten-free if required)⠀ 6 Romaine lettuce leaves, shredded⠀ 1 small red onion, super finely sliced⠀ 2 medium potatoes (optional)⠀ olive oil⠀ Drain both jackfruit tins. Cut the firm, pointy ends off each triangular piece of jackfruit. Set aside.⠀ Heat up olive oil in a medium, heavy-bottomed, pan. Fry diced red onion until softened, translucent and lightly caramelised. Add chopped garlic and fry off gently until soft and fragrant.⠀ Add most of the spices: cloves, cinnamon, cumin, and oregano to the onion-garlic mixture. Fry them off gently, stirring the whole time, for a minute or so.⠀ Mix in the tomato paste.⠀ Now add prepared jackfruit along with soy sauce, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar. Mix everything. Squash the jackfruit pieces with your mixing spoon so that the individual fibres separate more. Season with white pepper and a pinch of ground chilli if you wish.
